The Funderburg House Christmas Party is almost here! This year, in addition to the caroling and beautiful Christmas decorations throughout the house, guests can enjoy spirited card games provided by the Main Street Players of Boone County on the second floor, and Christmas Karaoke on the third floor! The signature drink this year will be margarita flights! This is a party you will not want to miss. You can purchase tickets at the museum or on Eventbrite using the link in the bio.

Thank you to everyone who came out today for our open house! We hope you had just as much fun celebrating as we did. As a special treat, here is a video of Rob Funderburg, one of the grandsons of Hugh and Alice, telling the significance of the silver platter that is on display in the dining room. We are so excited to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Hugh and Alice Funderburg moving into their home tomorrow, October 5th, from 1-4pm!

Along with the 90th anniversary, we are celebrating our new virtual tour which was made possible by a grant from the Boone County Community Foundation. This virtual tour was designed by Engine Studio and explores the second and third floors of the home and tells the stories of the families that resided there.

All three floors of the house will be open and available to tour. This event is free to the public though donations are always welcome and appreciated.

We hope you are able to join us for this celebration and look forward to welcoming you all into The Funderburg House

Ready to rock out at the museum? A brand new event, Rocktober will be held at the museum on October 19 from 6-10pm. This is a great way to raise money for various needs of the museum. With two live bands on stage, food trucks, a spirits tasting through the museum, and more, it’s an event you won’t want to miss! Tickets cost $30 per person and you can purchase them on Eventbrite using the link in the bio or at the museum!

On September 29th, 1934, Hugh and Alice Funderburg invited friends and neighbors to their new home at 605 N. State Street for a housewarming party. On October 5 from 1-4pm, we are celebrating the 90th anniversary of their move with a housewarming party!

There are only three presentations left in the 2024 Lecture Series! NOTE: The date of Mike Doyle’s “Boone County’s Contributions to WWI has been changed to Saturday, November 9th at 1pm. The dates of the September and October lectures have remained the same.

We are hosting an Autumn Paint & Sip with at The Funderburg House! Paint a beautiful autumn picture while enjoying refreshments from Edward’s Apple Orchard. Tickets cost $30 per person and can be purchased on Eventbrite or at the museum!

A brand new event, Rocktober will be held at the museum! This is a great way to raise money for the museum. A new opportunity to get unique Christmas photos taken has come along! On November 10, get your photos professionally taken by at the decorated Funderburg House! Private sessions cost $175. Please call the museum for any information.

Clue & Fondue is TOMORROW! Don’t forget to buy your tickets before they are all gone!

This fan favorite event will feature all the gadgets, secrets, and martinis that one could expect from a Bond movie. All three floors of the house will have clues and guests can enjoy cheese and chocolate fondue as well as signature cocktails.🍸 The mystery can be solved on July 27 from 7-10pm and costs $40 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Boone County Museum of History or online using the link in the bio. We hope you join us once again for Clue & Fondue and look forward to seeing you then!
