Today is a sad day for not only Belvidere and Boone County but the Community Building Complex of Boone County as well as we have lost Ron Wait. Ron was very instrumental in the inception of the Community Building as it is today and was a sitting member of the board to this day. His community, our community, was his passion each and every day. We should all strive to have that same passion and have it in the way that Ron did. The staff and board at the Community Building cannot thank him enough for all he has given to our community. Personally I need to thank him for his friendship, his guidance and for sharing his knowledge about the building, about our community and about his life with me. I feel honored to have known him and to have called him my friend. He is certainly leaving a hole in our community that will never be filled.
Our deepest sympathies are sent to his family and all who knew him.

Don't forget that tomorrow Friday, December 13th Helping Hands Network of Boone County presents A Musical Christmas Concert featuring Dan Holmes will be held at the Community Building. Doors open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. $5 entrance fee paid at the door (no advance tickets) as well as you are encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift to donate to Toys For Tots! This is a wonderful evening and sure to put you in the holiday spirit!

Be sure to visit the Community Building Complex of Boone County on Friday, December 6th to see the beautifully decorated trees as well as to visit the Ms. Claus Market (vendor fair) in the lower level. County Line Grange will also be in the lower level providing an assortment of food!

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!! Back 2 School Party is from 4-6 pm in the Community Building parking lot! Food trucks, community organizations and a FOAM PIT! Free (except for food truck)!! It's a bit chilly but the sun is shining and after all, children don't care...they just love the FOAM PIT!! Not just for families with children going to school - anyone is welcome to attend!!!

We will see you tonight from 4-6 pm!!

Just a few short days until our 3rd Annual Back 2 School Food Truck event featuring a FOAM PIT! The weather did not allow for a foam pit to be at Belvidere Heritage Days this year so get your fix and join us at the Community Buildings BACK 2 SCHOOL PARTY!! Community organizations such as Belvidere Township Park District, Boone County Health Departmentand the Belvidere Police Department will be on hand as well as several food trucks! And no worries if you don't have a child going to school...this events welcomes everyone! Skip cooking and eat at one of the food trucks and enjoy watching children have a blast before school starts!! WE WLL SEE YOU IN THE COMMUNITY BUILDING PARKING LOT on Tuesday, August 20th from 4-6 pm!!!!
