50 years married. These two wanted to honor the milestone with a portrait session together. And let me tell you- THIS is what we need more of! I enjoyed every minute with these lovebirds, hearing stories about how they met and fell in love almost instantly...battles they fought together... What a precious gift it is to have one another, and they know it! It was an honor to get her the portraits she's wanted with THAT DRESS AND THOSE SHOES?? I mean... Gaaaaaahhhhh! 🩵

This is no ordinary field of wildflowers. This is their summer haven at grandma and grandpa's farm...their place to reset and refresh and find silliness and joy with cousins and extended family each year. There is such a difference between seeing a place as merely a pretty backdrop for photos and recognizing the deep calm that a warm and familiar and beloved place can be for people. This is that kind of life-giving place. It shows.

One of the greatest joys of my summer is spending time with my dearest friend Annie and her girls from Texas. We began this tradition when they were babies, taking their portraits each year at their grandparents' farm. We wander around to their favorite spots in the yard, and decide which of grandma's flowers are the favorites. Now that they're older, I treasure the conversation just as much as taking their photos. These kids are absolute gold! ✨

Every wedding I photograph is special, but when I say I was honored to document Marie and Nikki’s day, it’s an understatement. I have known Marie for somewherere near 20 years and seeing her this happy and radiant with Nikki and their kids brings me so much joy! These two are beautiful together. Their hearts are overflowing with generosity and love and tender care for others. I’m thrilled they were able to get married on a gorgeous summer day with all their people cheering them on. I was so honored to grow and arrange their wedding flowers AND photograph their wedding. What a treasure the entire day was!
