COSSA Practical Shooting is a subgroup of the greater COSSA association. Located just east of Bend, Oregon, our specific emphasis is on those skills which would be considered "practical" in a self-defense / home defense scenario. Our objective is to develop safe shooters who have an interest in improving such skills. Toward that end, we host multiple matches and instructional sessions of
various disciplines throughout the year. USPSA - This is a pistol discipline that focuses on the balance of speed and accuracy. Through creative stage design, shooters are encouraged to find the quickest and most accurate way to engage multiple targets. Various props such as rooms, vehicles, fences, barricades, barrels, etc. Steel Challenge- Pure, fast shooting. Targets are steel plates, poppers, plate racks and other steel target configurations. This is excellent training in gun handling skills, accuracy and speed. Our Mixed Steel matches usually involve both pistol and shotgun stages
Multi-Gun - Carbine, Pistol, and/or Shotgun. These matches are designed to develop a well rounded shooter who is proficient at multiple fi****ms. Stage designs vary from close-quarter engagements to long-range accuracy challenges.
