A dear friend of mine suffered an unspeakable loss this week. Something that, as the friend looking in, leaves me feeling at a complete loss for what to say or do. It is also a close reminder that life is incredibly messy and uncertain.

Many years ago, this friend gave me a pocket book of Pema Chodron quotes. I carried it around in my purse for a long time. So today I offer a beautiful, messy picture of the process, and offer this quote from my favorite of Pema's work.

"Things don't really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together and fall apart again. It's just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy."

Zinnias are back! I love their vibrant colors, electric centers and ruffled petals.

These flowers always take me back to my grandparent’s backyard and lazy summer days. They had rows and rows of red and orange (my grandma’s favorite colors) zinnias lining their backyard lawn. I spent many a summer afternoon in that backyard on a creaky chaise lounge with a book and a glass of my grandma’s famous sweetened ice tea, watching my grandpa tend his vegetable garden. I miss those days and my grandparents very much. Zinnias transport me back to that moment in time. 🌸

Isn’t it amazing how flowers can have that kind and of effect?

A mini Bouquets to Art opportunity this week. A customer requested a custom arrangement for a friend’s baby shower. She gave us this painting as inspiration and asked us to make a floral arrangement that looked just like it. We used a .de.stela vase for the vessel, sourced local flowers from and . It’s so much fun to be challenged and inspired by unique customer requests. And, we were pretty pleased with the result.

TUESDAY thru FRIDAY our lovely florists will be at the shop all day to help you! Stop by, give us a call, or order online—we will be so happy to help you to make all your flower dreams come true.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY we will have FRESH & READY TO GO BOUQUETS, local BUNCHES of the most IN-SEASON FLOWERS, and a small STEM BAR. (No special or same day orders will be available.)

DELIVERIES- Still available Tuesday through Saturday (Saturday deliveries must be placed by Friday 3pm)

Half off Saturdays afternoons are moving & expanding! Beginning this weekend, ALL DAY SUNDAY all fresh flowers are 1/2 off!

This schedule and set-up will allow our little shop to best serve our flower loving community, and provide us (and Buddy) a bit more time to stop and smell the flowers.
