Crater Lake always blows me away. I’m not sure why I don’t make it there more often considering how close it is to Bend.
On Tuesday, I got the opportunity to go back and photograph another proposal in this beautiful place. Not even the smoke could stop us this time (considering last time I tried to shoot a proposal at Crater Lake the entire park shut down from a winter storm the day before). Plus, I think the smoke paired with golden hour made for some really nice light.
Can’t wait to share more!

Anna & Alex’s proposal at Mirror Lake was a highlight of my May this year. I drove up to Mt. Hood and hiked a couple miles in the snow to Mirror Lake.
Combine full sun, a blanket of white snow, and being the only ones the trail, and there really was nowhere great to hide without standing out. So I played tourist and the whole thing worked out perfectly. The days I get to hike for work are pretty cool.
After Alex proposed, we wandered through the snow and around the lake for a bit. It was SO nice having the entire lake and trail to ourselves. These two had such a fun presence, it made me feel like I was on a hike with some new friends!

I keep forgetting to post these previews from and ’s wedding last weekend down in California, but I’m so excited to share these.
I had a really great time in the Sonoma Valley with for a few days, but this week has been full of editing and shoots! I can’t really complain, though.
I got to capture this dreamlike proposal last weekend at . Adam + Shannon were naturals in front of the camera!!
The prompt I gave them? — “soak it all in”. I think it worked pretty well.

Happy Friday! Who else is looking forward to this weekend ?!
This week I’ve been working on a lot of things— updating the website, booking travel for upcoming destination weddings, blogging, and resurfacing all of the weddings and elopements I shot in 2023 to pick out some favorites. And I get in the habit of choosing a lot of favorites, so expect to see me posting more frequently here with new work! Proof that you don’t have to invest a lot in a venue or decor to have the wedding of your dreams. Samantha + Grant chose to have their wedding at a campground. They spent the weekend camping with their guests, got ready in yurts the morning of their wedding, then setup chairs in the forest and used the surrounding nature as their decor for the ceremony. The details here were simple yet personal to them, including the cans of Rainier and Kirkland Seltzer they hid in the flower guy’s basket to cheers with as they excited, and I loved that.

I shot my last wedding of 2023 last weekend! I think this is proof that rain adds such a cool mood to photographs!!
I’m so thankful for everyone who hired me this year and I’m already getting so excited for the weddings and stories I’ll be capturing in 2024!
I’m heading back to Indiana for the holidays and I’ll be working on finishing up my remaining galleries these next couple of weeks. Can’t wait to share some favorites from this year.

How is it already November?! Busy season is mostly over for me, so I’m taking this month to finish editing my remaining galleries + be more active on here.
I never got around to posting these previews from Kayti + Peter’s simple yet stunning Idaho wedding in the Clearwater national forest. This was possibly the most remote wedding I’ve shot to date, so it’s a good thing there was only one highway in and out (considering my track record of getting lost).

Kendyl + Jon got married between two massive redwood trees this past weekend. Their micro-wedding was filled with so much love, wonder, and exploration.
Their entire day felt like a dream and I still can’t believe I was there to capture it!!!

I’ve down in the Redwoods this weekend for Kendyl + Jon’s micro-wedding and I’m so excited for today. I’ll be breaking out aallll the film— Super 8, 35mm, 120mm— and of course my digital cams will be strapped to me as well.

Hey folks! I’m super excited to start offering Super 8 wedding highlight videos. If you know me or follow along with my personal photography, you know that I love shooting with film. I was gifted my grandpas Super 8 analog camera a couple of years back, and finally tested it out at Kathy + Nathan’s Glacier National Park wedding last summer.
This year I’ll be shooting a couple of Super 8 highlight videos up in northern Washington and would love to add a few more to my calendar for 2022 and 2023!
I recently realized that though I occasionally post images either here or on Instagram, I never have fully introduced myself, which can make or break whether or not a potential client sticks around to view my work or inquire. I’ve been learning more and more that connection is everything in this world, and I want to do my best to make sure each and every client of mine or couple who books with me knows the reason why I create and aspire to continue creating for the rest of my life. So, below is my attempt at letting you in on my life, both the personal and creative side.
I began taking photos at a young age. I have always been inspired by the things around me - nature, architecture, even billboards that grabbed my attention as I drove by, and I wanted to take photographs of them so I could revive part of what it felt or looked like in that moment later on. I have been taking photos ever since, and have progressively formed my style into something that speaks volumes to me. A majority of my work touches on the idea of connection and being alone in various spaces. What I find fascinating is that these themes are seen not only in my personal works of art, but also show up in my wedding and portrait images as well. The connection between two people in love is what drew me into becoming a wedding photographer, and I love having the ability and skills to capture such important moments as this. Both my wedding images and personal, fine-art images share an intimate quality, and the way I edit these images -- one might describe as “moody” -- comes as a result and in relation to this intimacy. After studying art for four years, traveling and exploring what a “good” photograph means, I think I have finally found my niche, and I don’t ever want to stop creating. (...So please hire me!!)
As an artist, my aspiration is to build memories that will astonish both viewers and clients, capturing moments while simultaneously creating stories. Both memories and stories play into the reason I create and the images that come as a result of this creativity. Through high quality fine art photography, I portray the raw, intimate moments of life as I discover different parts of this expansive world. Stories and moments can sometimes become lost, even forgotten. This being said, I never want to let a moment pass by. I create lasting images for myself and my clients and love spending my life creating meaningful art.
