This is just sad St. Charles Health System.

A viewer contacted NewsChannel 21 Thursday and shared photos of a large amount of St. Charles' personal protective equipment, from masks to gowns and gloves, that had just been disposed of at Bend's Knott Landfill.

Hey folks! I know its been a while but want to give a quick update. Since the start of COVID, our sister company Local Plastic has been designing, engineering, and building a plastic recycling machine! We are able to make these beautiful sheets from locally collected PakTech 6 pack tops from Bend breweries. These make great furniture and architectural panels! We will be making these availble to designers around the world in the coming months. Thanks to the team for sticking together and making this dream a reality! .tom, ,

Donate your cans and bottles to Discover Your Forest! Oregon BottleDrop

With taps and tasting rooms closed across our state, we’re all having to enjoy our favorite beverages at home. Have you noticed more cans and bottles piling up for recycling? Discover Your Forest is asking you to put your at-home beverage containers to good use. Whether it's beer, soda, kombucha or wine - you can donate your eligible bottle deposits to support public lands!

Discover Your Forest will mail a Blue Bottle Drop bag and sticker to anyone interested in giving back in this way. Simply fill the bag with your recyclable cans and bottles, drop it off at your local Bottle Drop location, and the funds will come directly to Discover Your Forest. Funds received from these donations will go towards providing educational services during the COVID 19 Pandemic.

Today is Earth Day. Typically a busy day for us. March and April are usually busy as a whole where we are working with local races keeping the course clean and green, working fun spring events at and prepping for a busy summer ahead. I don’t think I even need to say that’s obviously is not happening right now. As events have come to an abrupt halt, what hasn’t stopped is our commitment to our mission, our commitment to our plastics recycling program and our commitment to clean+local recycling! The current situation is tough but some would have said our line of business was tough before this happened so we’re ready for the challenge! 😂💪🏼 So, happy Earth Day and we’re here still rockin and ready to roll when you are! -Phil & Abby, + the Broomsmen team ♻️🌎

Congrats to 10 Barrel Brewing Company and Worthy Brewing for being featured in Forbes for earth friendly beers to drink on Earth Day! We have been recycling their brewery plastic and Paktech 6-pack rings locally in Bend, Oregon. Cheers to better beer and a better planet! ♻️🍻

These beers donate a portion of proceeds to conservation projects and other eco-friendly initiatives. Pick some up for Earth Day, or any day.

Hi Everyone. Just wanted to put this out and see if there is any interest in exploring ways to ramp up local mask production. We have a working INJECTION MOLDER and CNC mill in BEND OREGON. If we had the right mold we could produce face shield brackets 75X faster than 3D printing.

We have the following issues:
Expertise. We are beginners in machining and injection molding. We do not currently possess the in-house knowledge and experience to make molds.

Financial. Our plastic recycling business can not fund this project without outside support.

We’re in this together and ready to make it happen and shock everyone once we’re able to safely get back out there 💪🏼♻️ stay well! • this hex bowl is 100% #2 recycled plastic. We had plans to display some of our products and talk about our plastic collection at at the next but this will have to wait until we’re all able to gather safely. In the meantime we’re able to ship you our brew bags, hex bowls and mini plant pots! Be safe, stay well and more than ever

We just hit 10,000 pounds of plastic recycled by Bend brewers!! Thank you 10 Barrel Brewing Company, Humm Kombucha, Sunriver Brewing Co., Worthy Brewing, Crux Fermentation Project for contributing to the circular economy and not the Landfill!!! 🍻 ♻️

Vote Phil Chang stopped by our facility today to learn about the future of plastic recycling in Bend! He is a huge supporter of the circular economy and community waste reduction programs. He gets our thumbs up for Deschutes County Commissioner primaries on May 19th. 👍♻️
