The parade is two weeks from today!

Reed Anfinson will be the Grand Marshal for the 2024 Pioneerland Band Festival.

Reed is the owner/publisher of the Swift County Monitor-News. He has been a strong advocate for music and music students in Benson Schools and the community for years. His commitment to cover musical events in the newspaper has brought an awareness and importance of what music means to the students and the community. The exposure through articles, advertisements, and pictures gives recognition to the hard work the students and faculty put in to create musical opportunities in the community.

Reed is a 1972 graduate of Benson High School. He then attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications. He has served as president of the Minnesota Newspaper Association, the National Newspaper Association, and the National Newspaper Foundation. He is currently serving on the Minnesota Center for Rural Policy and Development. He has also won numerous awards throughout his career.

Over the lifetime of the Flag Day Parade, Reed's support has been critical to the success of the event. The PBF committee thanks Reed for his many years of supporting music and the arts in the community!
