What a welcome back we have had since arriving in KY last Thursday morning!! I wouldn’t want it any other way- we have hit the ground running and I hope to keep that momentum through Christmas!! Christmas is just a week and a half away and my mind is blown just typing that!! This is the last call to get in your Christmas orders! We will be back in Texas for New Years for Jamie’s follow up scans, labs & appointments- but will be back at it Jan 2!! 2025 is already shaping up- we have on January 4th, so if you’re a bride to be- that’s an event you will want to check out!! 🫶✨Super big, sobbing as I type Appreciation Post✨🫶
Owning & running a small business in today’s world is hard. Doing that while also having a full time job is even harder. Having friends & family that support, encourage, motivate and inspire you to keep going is absolutely everything!!! Having understanding & supportive clients is also everything! When we learned that Jamie was going to go to MD Anderson for appointments, labs, scans & treatment, I had no clue what that was going to mean for The Cheese Boarder-just that I knew I was going to be there for my husband, no matter what it meant- figure the rest out later. Timeframes for being gone were up in the air due to waiting on insurance to approve things & when we got preliminary dates, we knew those could change. We also know that I have a hard time saying No to people (as a pathological people pleaser 😉) so as time went on, orders were still rolling in & I tried to accommodate around dates I knew I would be gone, but also some people booked months in advance before we knew any of this was going to happen. I am blessed with tribe of friends & family who all said, this is your busy time of year, don’t turn anything down, we will help you! If you know me, you also know that accepting help & handing over control is not something I do easily- I like to be the helper & I cant help it, I also like to be in control (this is the 3 wing 2 in me-iykyk)🙋🏼‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️, but I said okay! These beautiful people that the Lord put in my life have helped me on more levels than they will ever know and I am forever thankful for them. This isn’t the first time they have helped me out, either! Over the past 3 months, and especially the last week, they have shopped, prepped, cleaned, washed, assisted & created, not to mention listened, counseled, talked me off the ledge! This past week I had accepted orders thinking we would be home, but our stay got extended by a week & these beautiful humans come together & fulfilled each order- they weren’t small, easy ones, either. They did a fabulous job & while I don’t have photos of everything they did, I am highlighting the ones I do! I am beyond Thankful!

Our stay has been extended. We originally planned to return this week, but we have to stay through the 11th now due to follow up appointments and lab work. Jamie was discharged on Thanksgiving Day and it made for the best Thanksgiving!! We got to relax at our Texas apartment and had some family from a couple hours away bring us a delicious, homemade Thanksgiving feast!! Then on Friday we surprised him with a visit from our son and Jamie’s Brother! They go home today- but we’ve had the best visit with them!! Now we just have to hang out for another week and a half and go to and from appointments and get lots of blood work done. We will be back for a few days at the end of the month, so I’ll be out of pocket for New Years! If you have an order that has already been confirmed this week, it will still go out as planned, however I won’t be accepting any new orders until December 13th. That gives me time to get home and get my stock replenished! I will be accepting orders from December 13th through December 28th, but will be taking Christmas Day off. So get those Christmas orders in now- those spots will fill up fast!! Thanks for bearing with me and for your unwavering support & prayers! It means the world to me!! As a small business, and it being my busiest time of year, it is hard to be closed and out of pocket, I absolutely hate telling someone no, but I do appreciate everyone understanding!! Thank you!!!

Hello Friends!
I wanted to touch base and let you know that we are still accepting orders for 2024, however we are not accepting orders for the following dates: November 7th through December 5th. My husband and I are leaving this weekend for a month long stay in Houston, Texas as he undergoes his treatment and clinical trial to hopefully cure his Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma that is currently in his lungs, abdomen, lymph nodes and tumors on his back. We are very hopeful for this treatment. I am stepping away for a while, but I do have some help to fulfill orders that were already placed and promised!! I will be back in December ready to take on all the Christmas orders and holiday parties!! Super thankful for all the prayers & support from my awesome clients!! ❤️❤️

What an absolute “grazey” weekend! We love the chaos and adore being part of so many celebrations! From business celebrations, to weddings, to baby showers and everything in between! You kept us on our toes this weekend, but we were here for it and we delivered! As many days as I have done this all by myself, I can’t say that for this week…I had friends & family pitch in to help cut cheese, fold, cut & roll meat, wash and dry fruit & veggies…and dishes…and I am so grateful- grateful for the orders and thankful for my mom who spent 13 hours with me yesterday creating, delivering and setting up at two weddings (one in Princeton and one in Cadiz), thankful to my sister in law who delivered orders for me today while I went to Clarksville to set up a super fun brunch graze and super thankful to my friends that showed up at the shop Thursday night to help me prep for this weekend full of cheese…also thankful for friends helping me set up the huge graze for the Chamber dinner Friday night! Without you- it would have never got all done and if so, I would have got zero sleep- so thank you all sooo much!!

I don’t know about you, but 2024 has been a blur for me! We are down to the last quarter and life has been crazy lately! Many of you know, but some do not…my husband is currently battling Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma and we are in Houston now for our 2nd visit to prepare him for a month long stay in November to undergo a Clinical Trial. So if I have seemed quiet, I’ve had a lot on my plate and honestly for me, family comes first! Now that we have a game plan, I know a rough timeline of when I will be home and when I will be in Houston. I am very thankful to have friends and family that are helping on the home front and also on the Cheese front!! I have included my calendars for availability and ordering for the rest of the year. I will say that things are subject to change and if I have more openings or availability or if something is just not feasible, I will contact you directly! To clarify- any existing orders are good to go and you have nothing to worry about!! Life has a funny way of slowing us down and making us reflect and rest! I’m so thankful for my business, but without my husband, there wouldn’t be a business, so for now, my main focus is on him and our family and I know the rest will work itself out!! It may be the end of August, but we just hosted our first Charcuterie Workshop of the year! It was so much fun hanging out with these awesome ladies tonight and all of their boards turned into beautiful creations!! I am always so excited and energized after a class is over!

2024 has been another year of learning and also prioritizing. Being a small business owner isn’t easy or for the faint of heart. When you work full time and own a small business on the side- the hardest part is balancing all the things- dedicating yourself to your job, keeping your passion for your business and most importantly prioritizing and making time for your family! We won’t get the time or years back- which may mean longer days, chaos, less hours of sleep, but also fitting it all in. 2024 has been the relentless year of medical challenges. My husband’s cancer not only come back, but it has spread (metastasized) and he is currently stage 4 metastatic melanoma. My 12 year old son had hip surgery in March, and my father in law had major heart surgery including quadrupole bypass, Mitral valve replacement and afib clamping in July. Safe to say it has been a tough year, but my people are strong and they fight every single day! We leave next week to go to MD Anderson to meet with my husband’s new oncology team and get our next game plan. There aren’t many solutions that can cure him, but they have a few things up their sleeve that they are going to talk out and decide which route to take. We are confident and hopeful that we are taking the correct path and they will provide the answer to our prayers! 🧀🫒🍇

I tell you all that so you know why I may be slower on my response times or may not have some availability. I do have an amazing tribe of friends and family that gladly step in and help me anyway they can and will continue to. Once we know a game plan and timeline from the doctors, I will post my calendars for the remainder of 2024. Thank you for your patience and thank you for going on this journey with me! I am beyond grateful for your business, support and prayers! Our community has truly rallied around us and gone above & beyond in showering us with love and prayers and so much more!
