Feeling very nostalgic today and reminiscing on my wedding day. 💚⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you don’t know the story already, Chris and I got engaged in August 2017 and married in December 2017. Which means I had about 3 months to plan our wedding.💀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We DIYed plenty and worked our butts off to put together the wedding of our dreams. BUT the wedding day itself was STRESSFUL. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Chris and his groomsmen were in charge of set up and had no time to enjoy their guy-time before the wedding. I had to help with some of it too because I was the only one that knew how to put together our easel 🙃⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then, at the end of the night, our guests and friends had to help us pick up all our items and take them to our cars since we couldn’t leave them at the venue overnight.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My wedding was beautiful but if I could change ONE thing, it would be to hire someone that could’ve taken care of all of this for me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And that’s why I started Social Icing. I want to be the person I needed most on my wedding day for all my couples. ✨✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

After a week full of heightened emotions,and full of anxiety for some of us, I offer you this beautiful shot from a lovely shoot I styled not so long ago. ✨
It was a lot of fun to work with Jazmin’s vision and bringing all of the elements together in a unique and cohesive way.
I always love to bring a small DIY touch to every shoot I work on. In this case, I hand painted the name tags on each place setting.

Hi there! My name is Tanya and I am the owner and planner of Social Icing Weddings. I love puns and play on words, so that’s how my biz name came about. I add the last special touch that elevates your social gatherings and makes them extra special. The figurative icing on top of the cake.
My approach to wedding planning is ever-changing and ever-growing. Every couple is different and weddings are always evolving, so each planning experience is tailored to YOU.
In my free time I enjoy crafting, hiking, and watching Netflix. I also have a “day job” as social media coordinator at Crystal Bridges, which I LOVE!

The vibe I wanted to go for with the flat lay and moodboard is an urban chic elopement.💎 Having a black and white invitation suite gave me the chance to fill in the blanks however I wanted. I focused on the font and knew I wanted the styling to be fun, laid back, and elegant. 🖤
I set my styling board using white velvet and a square mirror on top ( it was really hard to not appear in the shot!) I added some fun silver and gold square confetti for a playful vibe.✨ I love flat lays that incorporate personal details from the bride, so I included a perfume bottle, a handmade bridal headband, and a garter.
Fun facts about the flat lay:
The rings in the photo are my husband’s and mine 💍
I handmade the pearl headband, as well as the boutonnière ⚪️
The garter is also mine from my wedding 👰🏼
The was so much fun and it makes me so appreciative to be a 🍾
