UPDATE 5/4/24: Thank you all very much for the overwhelming outpour of support over the past 24 hours. We cannot thank you enough for your kind words and assistance. Through their investigation, and a tip provided by a citizen, the suspects in the video have been identified by the Berea Police Department and charges are now pending through Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court. Again, we greatly appreciate the support of our community and the local police department for quickly and professionally attending to this situation. We ask you allow the authorities and court system to handle the situation from here forward as the investigation is still ongoing. Thank you again for all of your support. PS: The bees are still a little shaken up, but are expected to recover and continue pollinating the fairgrounds and surrounding areas this summer. --------------------------------- We come to you today with some sad news. As some of you know, we are the only fairgrounds in Ohio with a licensed apiary on our grounds. (Hives where we raise honey bees) 🐝 Earlier this week, we had an unfortunate instance of vandalism where two individuals came onto the grounds at 1:18 AM to vandalize one of our hives. For the protection of our animals on grounds, we have cameras recording 24/7. A police report has been filed with Berea police and an investigation is ongoing. If you recognize either of these individuals please contact the @Berea Police Department or call the fairboard office at 440-243-0090. We are hopeful to identify these individuals to prevent any further harm to our resident pollinators 🌸 who live at CCF.
