Steven & Olivia // Terre Haute

Steven and Olivia put their hearts into this wedding day. When we arrived at their small country church, they and their families were bringing life to the church with sweet, personally-designed decorations. As the big moment drew near, we were treated to a round of heartfelt first looks with Olivia and her family. Then it was time for Steven and Olivia to meet on opposite sides of a tree, to hold hands, and to pray together. At last, after family and friends cozied themselves into the church, the two pledged their hearts to each other before the Lord.

Outside, with a stunning sunset on the horizon, we had fun with portraits and video, including some running off in the distance!

In a sweet end to the day, the guests celebrated over dinner and dancing. Our fav moments were Olivia’s so-tender dances with her dad and her mom. It brings tears to Beth and I as we imagine someday having dances like these with our girls!

Rory & Carleen // The Old Courthouse

Somehow I managed to forget to post this amazing wedding earlier, or maybe it's a longing for the return of warmer weather!

Carleen and Rory’s fall wedding day started in downtown Cleveland at the classy Marriott at Key Tower. In a high-rise room flanked by spacious picture windows overlooking Lake Erie, Carleen and her bridesmaids got ready for the day ahead. Just a few floors down Rory and his groomsmen humorously worked out just how to tie all those bowties! From there, we headed to Messiah Lutheran Church, the same church that Carleen’s parents were wed. The entwined worship and scripture reading time was a sweet testimony to their faith and commitment. After a fun time of photos and video at Wade Lagoon at the Cleveland Art Museum, we traveled to the 1813 Old Cleveland Courthouse, one of the most elegant halls in the city. Carleen and Rory made their entrance down the sweeping marble staircase and the party fired into motion. Part way through the night Carleen put on a special reception dress, better to dance up the night! The most entertaining moment of the evening came during the song “Sandstorm” when Rory was hoisted up in a chair on the dance floor. Nonstop fun and celebration lit up the night at the Old Courthouse!

What a gorgeous late summer day it was! Erin leisurely enjoyed her bridesmaids and getting ready in the 1910 stone mansion that is now the Kirtland Country Club clubhouse. Tom and his guys spent the morning taking swings at virtual golf just a little down one of the fairways until it was game time. In the afternoon we headed to the stunning St. John the Evangelist cathedral in downtown Cleveland where Erin and Tom pledged their lives to each other. From there we had two fun stops for photo and video opps: the 1910 former Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel at the Cleveland History Museum and then back to Kirtland for a ride in the golf carts to the 10th tee which overlooks a spacious valley. Finally, we headed into the clubhouse for some fun and heartfelt toasts, a wonderful dinner, and dancing outdoors on the patio to Stiletto Fire’s amazing live music. This was a celebration to remember!

Our favorite moment of the day was Tom’s repeated comment about Erin: “I am so lucky!”

Owen and Alyssa’s day started at Alyssa’s family home. She was surrounded by ever-increasing numbers of family, friends, and smiles. Chattering in Italian also filled the air as relatives joyfully arrived. Once Alyssa and her bridesmaids were ready to go, she headed out the front door of her childhood home with her path lined by family showering her with flower petals and more! At St. Anselm, Owen beamed as his bride joyfully came down the aisle with her father. After a heartfelt ceremony, we all headed for fun portraits and video at Wade Lagoon outside the Cleveland Museum of Art. At last, it was time for the bridal party to let loose at Landerhaven for Alyssa and Owen’s reception. The most exciting time on the dance floor was the Italian Tarantella which involved nearly everyone in the hall moving in increasingly intricate circles and formations. The night ended as the guests went outside as Alyssa and Owen enjoyed a private last dance in the hall before exiting to raucous cheers and sparklers.

Humorously, I had the privilege of teaching both Lauren and James in high school! Back in my video production class, Lauren had the chance to see some of my underhanded advertisement when I showed wedding videos Beth and I produced. Years later, she asked us to film her and James’ wedding! Our day started over at Lauren’s childhood home where her mom and dad’s kindness was a delight to all. From there we all headed to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini for a touching ceremony. They had quite a cute flower girl who had fun trying to get Lauren and James’ dog Taylor to walk down the aisle. It was also moving to see an emotional James as his bride came down to be his wife. After they pledged their hearts to one another we headed off for some gorgeous portrait and video time at Schoepfle Gardens. Finally, the celebration went into full swing at Sunset Terrace perched on the beach overlooking Lake Erie and a truly gorgeous sunset.

Jill and Jason welcomed in 2023 just a few days after the New Year celebration by announcing their commitment in marriage in the stately 1917 Greystone Hall in Akron. The biggest surprise for everyone was the bagpiper who began playing from a side hallway of the royal Doric Room where the ceremony was held. As the bagpiper entered and tears were shed all around, Jill was led down the aisle by her parents to take Jason’s hand. There they read their heartfelt, personal vows to each other and were announced as husband and wife. As they exited, another surprise awaited as they walked under a Marine saber arch. The reception began in the Grand Ballroom as Jason and Jill entered aloft from the 2nd floor entrance and came down the staircase to join their guests as they toasted, ate, and danced the night away.

Kelli & Scott’s spooktastic day began at the Glidden House, a 112-year-old French gothic style mansion. Kelli and her bridesmaids adorned black lipstick for their almost-Halloween (missed it by just two days!) wedding day. After a sweet first-look outside the mansion surrounded by stunning fall colors, we were off for portrait and video time around Cleveland, stopping at The 27 Club in the Flats, Wade Oval, and, our personal favorite of the day, Lakeview Cemetery where Kelli and Scott posed in front of the famous Haserot angel gravestone. At last, we headed back to the Glidden House for the ceremony where the bridesmaids wore black and carried lanterns and the officiant, clad in a skeleton suit, led Kelli and Scott in their spookily-worded vows. It was now time to party, and party they did, curbing their first dance from a sweet ballad to a punk song in a room adorned with 12-foot-tall skeletons. The night wrapped up with an outside sparkler exit where Kelli and Scott raced through the lights in the darkness amid festive shouts of happiness.

Marissa and Craig’s fall wedding day began at Craig’s parents’ house where Marissa got ready with her bridesmaids. It wasn’t long before Craig arrived in a vintage pickup truck for their first look followed by the two reading their vows to one another. From there we were off to The Event on Sunnybrook, a wedding venue originally built for the venue owner’s childrens’ weddings. Marissa and Craig tied their hearts to each other at an outdoor ceremony overlooking a lake. Afterwards we headed into the hall where they entered the reception amid shouts and cheers, toasting, laughing, and dancing the night away! One of our favorite moments of the day was the startlingly beautiful sunset where we and Mallory and Justin, the super fun photographers, were able to get some of our favorite shots of the night with the setting sun peeking through the trees.

We normally begin a wedding day with the bride, but this day started with Cameron at the Railway Barber Shop where he and his sons and groomsmen got haircuts and classic lather and razor blade shaves! From there we headed to where Alexis and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Once the champaign bottle was popped, Alexis got ready in her gorgeous wedding dress and it was time for photos, first at their home and then downtown to the 1925 main library of Cleveland. It was stunning to capture Alexis and Cameron amidst the classic stairwells and stonework of this historic building. Then it was time for the big moment and we whisked ourselves over to the Aviator, the newly repurposed venue right on the edge of the Cleveland Int’l Airport. After tying the knot in an intimate ceremony where Alexis additionally pledged her love to Cameron’s three sons, we caught a few more moments of photo and video on the rooftop as airliners came in for landings right behind us! Alexis loves planes and Cameron often folds his letters to her as paper airplanes, so it was a perfect combination. Then it was time to party, and party they did-even to the explosion of indoor sparklers!

Shannon and Brendan’s day started at Shannon’s incredibly hospitable parent’s home. Our favorite moment was when Shannon had to shoo her mom away to avoid crying, both laughing in the process! From there we were off to St. Raphael’s for a heartfelt ceremony. Brendan, after catching his breath as Shannon came down the aisle, led Shannon to the front of the church where the two pledged their lives to each other. From there we went to the elegant and historic Union Club where they both danced up a storm! They ended the night as all their guests lined the grand staircase to cheer the couple on while Shannon and Brendan walked down amid cheers and out into the street and into their new lives together.

This beautiful day started with Mary Kate getting ready in a stunning home that overlooked the Cleveland skyline. Beth and I had fun hanging Mary Kate’s light and summery dress outside along the tree-framed walk next to the brick-paved street. From there we were off to St. Christopher’s in Rocky River where Mary Kate and Tommy so sweetly and emotionally pledged their hearts to each other during the Mass, with worship led so meaningfully by Ashley Nehme. After a ton of fun photo and video shots at the Westwood Country Club (thank you for being such great sports, Mary Kate and Tommy!) it was time to celebrate with a live band, the Bluewater Kings! A sweet moment was Tommy’s tears when dancing with his mom. The night wrapped up with a sparkler exit

Sam and Alex’s wedding day was a joyful mix of Ukrainian tradition and just plain fun! Before leaving for the ceremony, their parents spoke blessings over the couple and presented them with prayer and hand-crafted icons. The ceremony was held in the 1910-built Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Tremont. One of the most touching moments was just before the couple exited as the entire packed church sang a Ukrainian blessing over the new Mr. and Mrs. Trimm. After a stop at their favorite “dive” bar, the Hotz Café, and a visit to the Cleveland Art Museum, we were off to Windows on the River where a Ukrainian band led the celebration, along with the most stunning dancing we have ever seen, performed by a traditional Ukrainian dance team all the way from New Jersey. Tradition and fun were again at the heart of the day!

Tiarra & Matthew // The Union Club

Elegance and heart characterized Matthew and Tiarra’s wedding day. We started the day with Tiarra and her bridesmaids as they got ready in the historic 1905 Union Club building in downtown Cleveland. From there we were off to the equally historic church, 1877-built St. Stephens, where we were led in heartfelt worship and witnessed the solemnizing of Matthew and Tiarra’s union. One of our favorite moments was Tiarra and her father’s emotional meeting before it was time to go down the aisle. After a fun stop at St. Ignatius High School, Matthew’s alma mater, for photos and video, we spent the night celebrating back at the dark wood infused Union Club, dancing to a rocking live band and even watching a live event painter capture the night with her paintbrush. There was so much heart and so much fun to this day!

Jess & Chris // Valley of the Eagles

Jess and Chris’ wedding day started as a day of waiting on rain. The blessing was that it kept moving back in the forecast and they had a rain-free outdoor ceremony! After Jess and Chris’ heartfelt and touching ceremony, we hopped on a golf cart at Valley of the Eagles and zoomed off to take video and pics by a rugged cliff and lush field. Then we were off to the reception (which was thankfully indoors because the rain finally came!) where the bridal party entered, adorned with photobook costumes. Our favorite moment of the day came at sundown as the rain cleared and a stunning glow came over the horizon. We scurried out with Natalie, their wonderful photographer, and captured our favorite moments of the day as the sun set. Many blessings to you both and your marriage, Jess and Chris!

Molly & Joe // Chagrin Valley Country Club

We began our day with Molly at the elegant Chagrin Valley Country Club while she and her bridesmaids prepared for the day in a second-floor studio. For fun, Molly and the girls opened up what appeared to be a bottle of champagne, but was actually full of confetti which burst into the air amid shouts and exuberant laughter! After a tear-jerking first-look, and some humor, with Molly’s dad, we were off to Joe’s first-look on the golf green. Here Molly planned a little humor too as she held up a photo of their dog on a popsicle stick. Before the ceremony, Molly and Joe were officially married when both signed the ornate ketubah document along with two witnesses and a rabbi, who joked that they didn’t technically need the ceremony now! But, off to the ceremony they went, underneath a large tree, acting as a chuppah. Later, Molly and Joe burst onto the dance floor, giddy with celebration which carried on the rest of the gorgeous evening.
