Visiting Angels

Thank you Dottie and team at Peggendott Design Studio and the Coolidge Collection for your generous donation to the Alzheimer's Association - Greater Michigan Chapter and 20 Mile, An Angels Run for Alzheimer's. For the past few months, we've been working with the wonderful Ms. Lynsie Creasman. Aside from making alterations to her dress, we also made her an original Peggendott veil. The veil was a full circle, with a gold rolled edge and hand beaded comb. Just a few weeks ago, she became Mrs. Lynsie Lightfoot in that that very same dress and veil. Congratulations, Mrs. Lightfoot!

We are now back to our regular hours of operation!

-As many of you know, Dotty, the owner, has been battling illness since spring. Recovery has been long and tough but the outcome is positive. We want to thank everyone for the support over this past year and we apologize for any inconveniences during this period. We are happy to be coming into the holiday season on a good note. We wish you all the same.

Here is a beautiful picture of Ellen on her wedding day. There was some extensive altering that we had to do to her dress, but it was well worth it! We took the bodice in about 3-4 sizes down and altered the neckline from straight across to a romantic sweetheart shape. Since the hem was lace we had to lift the skirt in order to give her the perfect length. We also added a beautiful applique on the front to finish off the look. You couldn't tell that we had gotten into it, inside and out.
This year's wedding season was wonderful. We met some truly amazing people. Whatever the job was...just a hem or a custom dress...we treated it with the utmost care. Thank you to everyone who came to us and congratulations to all of this year's new couples.

This was one of our absolute favorite projects this year! We made Frederica a rum pink silk, strapless gown. It had a matching jacket with an inverted box pleat in the back. The skirt of the gown had matching pleats and to top it off...concealed pockets! This was such a fun dress to make. What made it even better was that it got to travel all the way to Italy to Frederica's home.
Frederica, you looked absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for the pictures and for making Peggendott international!

Here is a vintage find that we worked some magic on. Jayme's fiance found this dress for her and badly wanted her to wear it for their wedding. They were both disappointed when the dress did not fit her by about 6 or 7 inches! That is not your everyday alteration!
Jayme bought it anyway (without her beau's knowledge) and brought it to us. We had to take some lace from the skirt and hand dye fabric to copy the color of the distressed lining underneath. It was a lot of work to match up the fabric color and its years of wear. However the end product is worth it. What a lovely surprise this dress will be. We are honored to help make it happen.
