are you still doing that flower thing? i would like to answer this question publicly because i get it frequently from many different people.
first off, let me acknowledge that it’s been over a year that wilted and worthy has posted. oops. when i started wilted and worthy, it was during a time in my life when there wasn’t a lot going on career wise. wilted and worthy, then grew throughout the pandemic when there wasn’t a lot going on in everyone else’s life. it grew exponentially over the next couple years, but as i started to make my career as a nurse a priority and prioritizing making a profit things started to slow down. i noticed that working full-time as a pediatric nurse took a lot of my extra brain power. i noticed that adjusting my prices to reflect my hard work and design led people to question whether my services were worth it.
i think for me the question of are you still doing flowers or are you still doing that flower thing? is tough one to answer. wilted and worthy has always felt more like a part of who i am and less of a business i’m trying to grow. i still feel that way to this day wilted and worthy will always be a part of me whether we do one wedding, six weddings, ten weddings, or no weddings in a year. it’s always been about more than just flowers to me. so as to end a long winded answer, yes i’m still doing the flower thing. it looks a lot different than when i started wilted worthy. but flowers are still one of the best parts of my life. i don’t get to do events or weddings as often as i would like, but I am still doing flowers.
recently, i started a doctoral program to become a nurse practitioner and grow my grow my career further. as you can imagine that takes more time away from having extra energy and mental capacity to run a business. the business and admin aspect of everything has always been a one woman show. grateful for the support and i’m even grateful for the questions because it shows that you care. if you got to the end of this, know that my inquiries and my website will always be open.
hopefully, we will see you sooner than a year from now. with love - stephanie, the girl who does flowers, the owner of wilted and worthy.
