The Unified Services/Sheltered Workshop hold a special place in my heart and I’m so grateful I get to help with their annual “Help Us Grow” Gala. Setting up beautiful tables, a huge charcuterie grazing table, and donating my time to such a worthy organization is the perfect wrap up to my big events for the year. Tammy and Suzanne have such big hearts and it’s such a pleasure to work with them on this. We really have a lot of fun! So many great auction donations and just the whole night is so uplifting. I’m honored to be a part of it and am already looking forward to next year🤍

📸Thanks Kinslee Wagner for taking some decor pics for me!

🧡Justin (“Red”) and Tressa Nalle had a beautiful weekend for a 1 year vow renewal and reception. It was my first time at East Fork Lodge & Ranch and I must say this stairway is literally my most favorite thing I’ve ever done! Once I got started I knew it would be the focal point of the evening. Everything came together better than I had planned and it was just beautiful. Such a fun evening with everyone and I’m truly grateful to have been a part of this special day.

🤍A time of remembrance for Kenny Ray was the most special part. He was such a light to us all and I know he would’ve been in the middle of that dance floor the entire night. Instead he had the best seat in the house, watching over his family and friends from Heaven. The DJ played his favorite song, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and I could just see his cheesy smile. Man we miss him, but our hope is in Jesus so we can see him again someday.

🩷Blushy mauve was the main color but we incorporated fall decor and bright flowers in as well. Who knew it would all come together so perfectly?!? Fall decor really is beautiful and is always one of my favorite seasons to decorate for.

🤎 The East Fork grounds are truly beautiful, and there are great views in all directions. You all know, I am a sucker for an amazing view! If you haven’t been over there, I would definitely recommend you check it out sometime. You can bet if I decorate there again sometime that staircase is going to be my main focus!

John and Stephanie’s Reception rounded out our on site events for this year’s wedding season. It was a beautiful, windy day and everything turned out so pretty. Opposing table decor is my favorite thing and these really made a statement. Those woven placemats fit all types of decor styles and I just love them!

Our black buffet made a perfect, simple cake/dessert table and the strawberry shortcake cups made by Miranda Tracy were amazing!

Andrea with PictureMe.Photography got some amazing shots of the couple and I can’t wait to see the rest!

🤍Nick and Riley had the most perfect day! A little rain early in the day to settle the dust then the record for the quickest clean up before the big rain rolled in last night. (I so appreciated ALL the help from everyone!) It was the in between time that was just absolutely beautiful🩷

🩵The girls had opposing colored dresses that were the inspiration for the multi-colored table scapes. Riley chose some of my favorite decor to date and even though it was super simple, it made a huge impression and fit the garden party vibe perfectly! Multi-colored glass with fresh flowers, gold accents, and my favorite sawgrass greenery on white tablecloths left a light and airy feeling under the tent💜

🧡We added some patio tables with umbrellas outside the tent, a text extension area for the bar and El Nopal was a huge hit with their taco truck! Tannah Lager brought her Photo Booth which is always a crowd favorite. We also debuted our new cocktail style tables and they were super popular for visiting around. I think it’s necessary to add more in the future💚

🤎The crowd was great and everyone was so happy to be celebrating Nick and Riley together. It’s my favorite kind of night where it lets me know we’re doing right what we’re called to do here at Windmill Ridge. Sharing our farm and home with others and showing God’s love in any way we can. It was definitely one for the books and it will forever make me smile as I remember how special it was💛

Windmill Ridge Events went off site this past weekend to help decorate and coordinate this beautiful, seamless, elegant wedding and reception at The VeNue Event Space. The live plants and subtle greenery added the perfect touch to the neutral decor for simple table centerpieces that made the perfect statement. The take home plants for all the guests was such a sweet way to remember this special day.

Cora and Morgan had such a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding. It was such a pleasure working with them and their families and getting to know everyone. Honestly, I was a bit nervous about helping make it all happen in one day but you would’ve never known by the time the wedding began. Cora had planned the day perfectly, the decor and every detail were labeled and ready to go. The brunch rehearsal with customized omelets for everyone gave a relaxing break for everyone to regroup and know their roles for Morgan and Cora’s special day. The best way to describe the day was perfect and seamless. I’m truly honored they asked me to be a part of it🤍

I’ve tried to think of the words to say all day but I think I’ll leave it to Roy because he said all the things I was thinking. I saw their love first hand and I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity to be a part of their special day🤍

Kentlie was supposed to be in the wedding we had on Saturday. It was an emotional time and I caught myself thinking of her many times throughout the weekend. She and God sent the perfect weather and I know she was watching over her friend Mackenzie as her and Justin were married.

If you don’t have a personal relationship with the Lord, now is the time. Let Kentlie’s light be the perfect example of what that looks like. There’s no doubt in my mind she’s sitting with Jesus, rocking her sweet baby Lainey. Attending Ashes to Beauty or Men’s Encounter is an amazing tool God uses to help you change your life. There are several opportunities throughout the year to attend one of these events. Also, everyone is always welcome to join us for church at Kirkley Chapel on Sunday mornings at 10am. I know she’d love for you to attend and find what you might be missing in life.

Justin and MacKenzie had the most perfect Wedding day on Saturday. The weather was amazing, it’s the kind I always pray about so that everyone is comfortable outside. The soft breeze felt great and the beautiful clouds in the sky were a welcome backdrop overlooking the barn view.

She picked out such beautiful decor that came together in the prettiest way. The pew bows in the barn really made it look fancy and the layered table runners under the tent are my new favorite. A simple sweetheart table for the bride and groom. Terra cotta colored tables for family and the wedding party and navy tables for the guests.

A spacious dance floor and a cordless microphone were all they needed for a great time! They truly enjoyed signing and dancing and I loved that. It was such a pleasure hosting them and being a part of the whole process from the planning to the cleanup. Thank you Justin and Mackenzie for choosing Windmill Ridge🤍

Trevor and Hannah had a beautiful wedding weekend. The weather was just perfect for an August wedding! The barn wedding was perfect and it was a beautiful ceremony. I love the outdoor decor on this one, it’s so inviting. Once you step inside, you realize the barn has so much character and minimal decor is needed to create the rustic feel these two were looking for.

The legion hall made a great backdrop for the reception. We switched things up again with the backdrops and I love the dark and light contrast. Sage green is the color for the summer and it just fits so well there.

Trevor, Hannah, and their sweet baby girl Sabrina have been such a joy to work with over the past few months. They are so sweet and even brought me a piece of wedding cake last night. It’s the little things that build life long friendships and I’m so grateful to have been a part of their special day and more importantly to have become friends. May God bless your future in many ways🤍

We were so excited to host Ian and Andaya’s big day here at the ridge yesterday. It was a hot one but it came together just as they had imagined.

When Andaya, her mom, and Ian’s mom came to me, I knew we were going to have a lot of fun together! They were all so excited to plan everything and had so many great ideas.

A beautiful yard wedding with the windmill, cabin, ponds, and field as the backdrop is just perfect. A tent reception was thee place to be to catch the breeze from the hot day. Another U shaped head table for the bridal party and opposite color guest tables are always stunning. We are excited for our new (smaller, less bulky, padded seat) chairs that leave so much more room at our tables. Everything fit so nicely.

The food was great, the dancing was the best, the visiting and new friends were a blessing and the groomsmen plunge at the end capped the day off with lots of laughter. I know Ian and Andaya will be blessed in life. They’ve got big things ahead of them and have an amazing family and lots of great friends rooting them on!

Treven and Bryndee were our first onsite wedding of the summer. Friday night rehearsal was great and ended with an amazing pizza spread in our guesthouse along with a swim party.

The wedding in the barn was amazing as usual and the breeze running through it was perfect. The tent reception created just the vibe that fit them both so well. The deep emerald teal table runners, wood charger plates and terracotta napkins paired perfectly with the cowhide looking centerpieces topped with amber glass, pompous arrangements and more wood accents. We did a U shaped head table this time and it framed the dancing area perfectly. We were joined by The Eleven for the first time and it was such a fun addition to the evening.

Congratulations Treven and Bryndee! I pray blessings over both of you as you begin your life as one. It came together so beautifully and it was a great day to celebrate. The sunset at the end was so beautiful. I feel like God painted that just for the two of you🤍

Windmill Ridge helped coordinate/decorate our first “out of state” wedding. It was just Kansas but hey it’s branching out still right? It was held at the Ag Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs and it was a beautiful day. Whitney is originally from Bethany (I’ve known her for years) and I’m so happy her and Steven found each other. The weather was rainy that morning but her vision for an outdoor wedding came together at just the right time. The sun came out and it was perfect! These quick decorations made it the perfect space and backdrop for the ceremony. Table runners as chair sashes quickly became my new favorite addition!

Inside the barn came together perfectly as well. The addition of the little crystal beads gave each table just the fanciness they needed. The macrame backdrop behind the cake turned out beautiful. The greenery backdrop for photos with the pompous accent was a great snapshot spot for guests. So many fine details really made this an elegant event.

I met so many great people and got to work with some of my favorites from home too. I pray many blessings over Mr. And Mrs. Steven and Whitney Adams and thank them for asking me to be a part of their special day🤍

July has been a busy month. It started with charcuterie for the Scripted Grand Opening uptown. A great event and the food was a hit as usual.

A small bridal shower at our Guesthouse for the Spurling’s put our new portable food counter/bar to use. The ladies put together an amazing charcuterie and it turned out beautiful. This counter can be used for so many things on and off site. Also added a couple new backdrops to the lineup.

⚜️June Event Recap⚜️

🤍Conner and Keagan were married and held their reception at the fairgrounds. The different colored table runners created a cool look for the guest tables and the head table backdrop came together perfectly. I loved their idea for a “guest book” and the antlers were the finishing touch to complete their rustic style. Thank you to Pam and Keagan for asking me to help, it was a lot of fun!

🖤Kason and Olivia were married at the Eagleville Christian Church with a reception at the Legion Hall. It always amazes me how everything can come together so quickly for such a beautiful event. The warm glow and moody lighting at the legion hall is always perfect. The memory cabinet was my very favorite part with photos and personalized items from their loved ones who had a front row seat from Heaven for their special day. The desserts were definitely a hit and the cream horns were most requested. IYKYK Olivia’s grandma has a pretty good take on those. The dark backdrop behind the head table and a lighter backdrop behind the desserts were a great switch up from past events. It’s fun to move things around and pull different colors in different ways. Overall, everything went smooth and I’m grateful to have been a part of your special day. It was great working with Erica and Olivia to make these visions come to life.

🩶A baby shower for Dawson and Hannah who are awaiting sweet Gypsy’s arrival rounded out the month. The head table backdrop from the fairgrounds was a repeat for this boho baby shower in the perfect way. A beautiful space for opening gifts and a photo backdrop for afterwards. The pretty detail of this shower made it so soft and inviting. Thank you Cheryl for asking for my help with it all.

The summer is just getting started with all these amazing events. It’s going to be busy but you know my heart is going to be full every step of the way. God has truly blessed me with all kinds of amazing people to work with this year in lots of different locations. I can’t wait to share all my favorite details with you over the next few months. Be ready because it’s going to be a great 2024 wedding season!

Our tent events are going to look a little different this year with brand new concrete! We are so excited for this new addition to our event space! Take a look at a couple photos from our first tent event of the year!!

Also, did you know we do charcuterie for all types of events big or small? Here’s one of our many options showcased on our beautiful whiskey barrel table under our tent. Charcuterie makes the perfect option for a casual or formal event and is ALWAYS a crowd favorite!

Congratulations to Joshlyn and Gage! It was a cool crisp evening that turned out beautifully. When Joshlyn got ahold of me mid September about a late October wedding, I never once thought we couldn’t make it happen for them. It was exciting to help her plan it and then put it all together.

Through this endeavor I’ve met some really great people. Everyone last night was so friendly and I truly enjoyed meeting new people and visiting. God just continues to bless this dream and He truly brings me the best people to work with.

If you’re planning a 2024 wedding, it’s a good idea to get it on the books. But if you’re not a planner that’s ok too, just always know we can make it happen quick and no one will know we hadn’t been planning for months. We’re kinda a one stop shop here, from weddings, receptions, decorations, table linens, lodging and more. Bring your clothes, food, drinks, and music and you’ll be all set!

Thanks again to the Savage’s for choosing Windmill Ridge for your special day!

It was such an honor to be asked to help with the first annual Unified Services “Help us Grow” Gala. This organization is near and dear to my heart and I have lots of connections to it throughout my life. It was so great to work with Tammy and Suzanne and help their vision come to life. I had lots of fun!

The tree shaped charcuterie fit the theme perfectly and was a huge hit. The table was packed for almost an hour solid. The meat says GROW but it’s a little hard to see. Lots of brainstorming and planning colors for this one. It was packed full with all kinds of goodies!

Our bar made a great addition to the back corner and worked perfect for 39th Street to serve drinks. We added castor wheels for easier transport so now this can be rented off site for your next event.

The tables turned out beautiful. The rich fall colored runner with the greenery and candlesticks created a simple but elegant look. I also loved the separated table floor plan for a different look at the Legion.

There was such a great turnout and it was a lovely evening. So good to visit with many of you and it warmed my heart to see so many donations and people supporting this very worthy cause🤍
