Not only do the lakes at Abby's Farm provide a beautiful backdrop for photos, they also are a welcoming site to travelers passing through.
Yesterday we were graced with a visit from, what appeared be, a juvenile Trumpeter Swan! 🦢
Trumpeter swans were extinct in Ohio as early as the 1700s because of habitat loss and unregulated hunting. The Division of Wildlife began reintroducing swan eggs in 1996.
The trumpeter swan is the largest, native waterfowl in North America, “stretching to 6 feet in length and weighing more than 25 pounds
The current population is estimated to only be 900.
