Hey, hi, hello to all the new mamas who have joined our village! There's no better feeling than finding good mom friends and I'm so excited that we get to go through this journey of motherhood together. I wanted a minute to give you all a virtual hug and introduce myself. I am Katie O’Flaherty aka KTO! I have a 3 year old daughter, Morgan, and I am 35 weeks pregnant with my second baby girl. This FREE class can be taken at any time during pregnancy.

During this class you will learn a little bit about a lot of things!

This class is a "how-to" program that helps you feel more confident and more educated as you advance through your pregnancy, feeling healthy, better organized and prepared. The purpose of this class is to get you thinking about what you need and want!

Topics include:
Baby's growth and development
Anatomy and physiology
Intro to labor and delivery
Intro to breastfeeding
Overview of hospital policies and procedures
Pregnancy Basics is provided virtually, at CFA as well as at many OB/Gyn practices. Ask your physician or midwife if this is available in their office.

Welcome our new teacher!

Alyssa is a proud mom of two boys. She is a huge fan of Harry Potter & football (Go Bills!!). In her spare time she enjoys reading, exercising, and being outside. She has been a participant in CFA programs with her boys for years and is now thrilled to be apart of the team!

Meet our new teacher!

Callie is a stay-at-home mom of a four year old boy. She became part of the CFA family in 2017 when she and her husband were expectant parents. Since then, she and her son William have attended all the parent/child classes at CFA. Callie was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to continue her journey at CFA as a class leader. She is excited to be able to provide the sense of community to other moms that she felt so welcoming as a new mom. In her very limited free time she enjoys gardening, kickboxing, coaching her son’s soccer team and spending quality time with her family.

Do you know how to take a newborn's temperature? Do you know how to provide umbilical cord care?

Would you be able to know if your newborn is well hydrated and well-fed? Not much experience with babies?

Though this class can be taken at any point in your pregnancy, we recommend the 2nd trimester when you are more comfortable and less tired. After your baby is born, our instructors are available to answer any questions and provide great postpartum support.

Many pediatricians confidently refer to this very popular program due to our clean, safe, baby-friendly environment and personal attention.

We know that the first few months of parenthood are filled with questions and confusion. How do you sort out your feelings, filter through the abundance of advice you receive, get some sleep, and try to do what you think is best?

Participating in this program gives you strength and direction.

Take the opportunity to meet other parents with babies about the same age as yours. Learn something new at each meeting, get and give advice, and be heard.

Going back to work during the class series? No problem. Sign up for the dates you can attend. Some new mom’s group is better than no new mom’s group.

Can’t think of a better thing to do on a summer day!
Thought I’d share one of my favorite baking experiences

Last night at 10:30 - past my bedtime, Kate asked if I would bake chocolate chip cookies with her . Most of you know my idea of baking cookies is slice and bake - I’ve never had much luck with toll house cookies and my invitations to holiday cookie swaps are stressful to say the least .
That being said, when my busy 16 year old asks me to do anything with her, I jump at the chance.
The 2 of us entered the kitchen, we mixed and measured, googled substitutions for ingredients we didn’t have or had expired in 2013 (who knew you couldn’t keep baking powder forever); accidentally added almond extract instead of vanilla because the bottles look the same; lost track of how many cups of flour and then chocolate chips we added and LAUGHED. Neither of us wanted to sit and drop teaspoons of our extraordinarily sticky batter onto cookie sheets- I’m not really sure we physically could have , so we put our concoction in a pan and cooked it like brownies. And I have to tell you, this was the most delicious cookie thing ! We weren’t perfect , there was no pressure, we made mistakes and it turned out great.
There must be a life lesson here somewhere - I’ll be sure to think about it as I clean the kitchen (one thing my 16 year old is not interested in doing with me).
