Alyssa is a proud mom of two boys. She is a huge fan of Harry Potter & football (Go Bills!!). In her spare time she enjoys reading, exercising, and being outside. She has been a participant in CFA programs with her boys for years and is now thrilled to be apart of the team!

Meet our new teacher!
Callie is a stay-at-home mom of a four year old boy. She became part of the CFA family in 2017 when she and her husband were expectant parents. Since then, she and her son William have attended all the parent/child classes at CFA. Callie was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to continue her journey at CFA as a class leader. She is excited to be able to provide the sense of community to other moms that she felt so welcoming as a new mom. In her very limited free time she enjoys gardening, kickboxing, coaching her son’s soccer team and spending quality time with her family.

Can’t think of a better thing to do on a summer day!
Thought I’d share one of my favorite baking experiences
Last night at 10:30 - past my bedtime, Kate asked if I would bake chocolate chip cookies with her . Most of you know my idea of baking cookies is slice and bake - I’ve never had much luck with toll house cookies and my invitations to holiday cookie swaps are stressful to say the least .
That being said, when my busy 16 year old asks me to do anything with her, I jump at the chance.
The 2 of us entered the kitchen, we mixed and measured, googled substitutions for ingredients we didn’t have or had expired in 2013 (who knew you couldn’t keep baking powder forever); accidentally added almond extract instead of vanilla because the bottles look the same; lost track of how many cups of flour and then chocolate chips we added and LAUGHED. Neither of us wanted to sit and drop teaspoons of our extraordinarily sticky batter onto cookie sheets- I’m not really sure we physically could have , so we put our concoction in a pan and cooked it like brownies. And I have to tell you, this was the most delicious cookie thing ! We weren’t perfect , there was no pressure, we made mistakes and it turned out great.
There must be a life lesson here somewhere - I’ll be sure to think about it as I clean the kitchen (one thing my 16 year old is not interested in doing with me).
