FitBEATS est. 2022

I started the idea of FitBEATS in 2022. The origin of FitBEATS began from creating playlists for the gym while coaching. I wanted to apply my college thesis in the fitness classes. The thesis was on how music affects a workout using beats per minute experimentation and psychological interviewing. Each playlist I created would have different affects of the type of fitness class came in that day based on music preferences and familiarity as well as intensity of the workout.

I continued to get a lot of comments on how awesome the music was and how I always knew what song would be best for different styles and paces of workouts. I could read a room well enough to tell if the song was motivating them or boring them.

From there, people asked me if I would ever become a DJ. The thought never really crossed my mind . The only other DJ experience I had was my cousin’s wedding (hitting the next button on the playlist I created for them) and a decades dance at my church.

Once I started thinking seriously about trying this DJ thing I got hooked immediately! I knew a good DJ had to have the most knowledge of every style and genera of music and be able to transition seamlessly through them all. They must have a desire to bring joy into people’s lives through music, and be off the wall with energy! Yep! Insert my name there!

I brainstormed the name FitBEATS and began promoting on Instagram. Then I got my first real DJ gig in the spring of 2022 for an epic 2 yr old birthday party! And the word never stopped spreading!

This year while balancing the Police Academy for most of 2023, FitBEATS has been featured in 14 fantastic gigs; weddings, parties, school dances, and competitions!

I absolutely love what I do, mainly because I get to enter into and provide celebration with music to different generations of people!
