The 406 Events Lawn features nearly 75,000 square feet of lawn space, lush gardens,unique architecture and art. Welcome to 406 Events Lawn!

(formerly Red Oxx Events Lawn). We are excited for you to see all the things we’ve added to our space. Located in the Billings Industrial Revitalization District (BIRD), the 406 Events Lawn is fast becoming the go-to spot for outdoor concerts and private events in downtown Billings, MT. Our venue features a natural oasis-like feel with an elevated amphitheater that will accommodate 800 general adm

ission attendees. The venue has on-site bathrooms, a prep kitchen and wood-fired pizza oven. Space on the west lawns is large enough to accommodate 3,000 square feet of tented space. Ticketing and entry are located at 323 N. 14th Street during events. All parking is in the public domain with hundreds of parking spaces within a short walk of the venue. On-site artwork is all reclaimed and repurposed industrial salvage meant to honor our hard-working forefathers who helped make Billings the Trailhead of Eastern Montana. We're putting together 2 tribute shows to honor our lost friend! All the details below, but please plan to join us Friday, March 28 in Bozeman at The ELM!

DETAILS:
On Friday, March 28, 2025, Pinky and the Floyd will honor the life and legacy of their iconic bandmate, Joe Kirchner, with two tribute concerts at The ELM in Bozeman: a matinee show from 5pm to 7pm and an evening performance from 9pm to 11pm.

Known for his electrifying keytar solos, infectious stage presence, and signature pink beehive wig, Joe Kirchner was the heart and soul of Pinky and the Floyd for the past 16 years. His passing has left an indelible mark not only on the band but also on the entire Montana music community.

The concerts will feature archival photos, video footage, and appearances by special guests who have shared the stage with Pinky over the years. The band will also incorporate Joe’s original keytar audio into their live performance.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Joe Kirchner Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering Montana’s music community and providing resources for musicians and their families. Exclusive tribute merchandise will be available, with all sales directly supporting the foundation.

Coming into work this morning and it's a little bittersweet. This last Saturday would have been our season wrap up with Pinky and the Floyd and some very thoughtful fans over the weekend have set up a small memorial for Joe outside the fence and also placed a few roses on stage.

It is with a heavy heart that we must cancel the Pinky and the Floyd show due to the death of one of the founders of the band in a tragic accident.

This is a terrible loss to the Montana music community and to the world. We offer our sincere condolences to the family and the band.

Joe "The Business" Kirchner will live on in the amazing musical legacy he left behind.

Events Lawn

Located in the heart of the Billings Industrial Revitalization District or B.I.R.D. the Red Oxx Events Lawn is an oasis of green in the midst of the concrete jungle. Ideas abound here at Red Oxx as well as being creative we love to socialize with our loyal customers. So a few years ago we started Oxxfest as a way to call attention to our little area of town. Through several events it came to pass that we would need a better venue to host our annual throw down. So we rolled up our sleeves and set to changing things. From flat ground to amphitheater which will accommodate 500 or more. . With the planting of twenty two trees and a new well we are welcoming nature back to downtown Billings. A food truck hook up station and even an area for vendors to set up tents. All of this “green space” is flexible to allow for small intimate gatherings to a full on street festival The Events Lawn will also be available for concerts this summer and even allow for wedding receptions or corporate gathering.
