For those of you who may have seen the story about us in the Billings Gazette here is an advanced screening of the piece mentioned. If you haven't heard, we were selected by a television show on the Bloomberg Television Network called "World's Greatest!". They sent a film crew in July and we were profiled, with the help of friends, family and a huge assist from Step'n Out Formal Wear here in Billings. This will air on the Bloomberg Network Saturday at 11:00 AM.

We are looking for a good home for "Russell Crow". He is one of our Serama roosters and is not mean to people but he and "Gregory Peck" don't see eye to eye. We have two baby chicks that are about one month old that we would find a home for as well.
Some information about Seramas: Seramas are a friendly little chicken—a lot of personality packed into a small package.

Unlike most other breeds, these birds like to follow their flock keeper wherever they may go.

Some flock keepers choose to keep Seramas with their larger flock members and find that because of the Seramas size, the larger breeds generally leave them alone.

Seramas have a high tolerance for temperatures on both ends of the scale—both hot and cold. However, they need to be kept in an area that is above 40 degrees Fahrenheit and draft-free—especially the younger chicks.

Although they love any opportunity to forage, Seramas tolerate confinement quite well.

Seramas will be at their happiest if they have an aviary area with a base of plenty of grass. The breed does not like or do well in those environments that are wet and muddy.

Lilypalooza continues… More lilies are blooming in this summer heat. Enjoy the heady fragrances of our giant lilies while you stroll and take in the beauty of the gardens. And of course, many other plants are blooming too: sunflowers, roses, petunias, daisies, rudbeckias, bougainvillea, begonias, among others!

Come view our summer blooming clematis! Varying in foliage and flower shape, size, color, these vining perennials add wonderful interest in any garden. For successful clematis growing, the foliage needs at least four hours of full sunlight while the roots need to be protected from intense heat (warm top, cool feet).

Come see these amazing irises from around the country. These were planted last Summer for the American Iris Society’s national convention right here in Billings in 2025. More can be seen at Tina and Daughters Iris Garden, Muriel’s Iris Garden and at Zoomontana.

Our fountain butterfly bush (Buddleia alternifolia) has started flowering! In massive bloom only once a year (minor bloom later in the season if it feels like it), this perennial shrub will be covered with fragrant lavender flowers on its graceful arching branches. It is a sight to see for the two weeks!

Let’s appreciate the beauty of a hawthorn tree: it leafs out in mid spring and then clusters of delicate white flowers bloom all over its branches as if telling to the world that it has awoken from winter. After a few weeks as the blooms mature, the flowers turn from white to pink as if letting everyone know that it is now ready for summer.
