"I always knew I wanted a winter wedding, which means I would likely need a reception hall due to the cold temperatures in December. Terra Cotta was perfect. Initially we planned to get married in December 2020, but due to Covid we had to push it back to December 2021. Terra Cotta made that easy. Kortney was excellent to work with for planning. She was professional and very prompt at responses, even when I would be in touch over a year before the final date. She made the transition easy. Would recommend in the future."

"The Culinary & Event Center (CEC) houses SUNY Broome’s popular Hospitality programs, which include: Culinary Arts, Event Management, Hospitality Management, Lodging and Casino Management and Restaurant Management. The CEC has state-of-the-art amenities such as an event room, lecture hall, classroom space, conference rooms and more. Originally built in 1903, the building contains many historic touches, from the plaster to the painstakingly restored woodwork, a terrazzo floor with a Grecian key pattern, and two faux fireplaces in the main-floor lounge. The CEC is available for use by groups, organizations and businesses when not being used for college activities. This week's VENUE SPOTLIGHT is with our good friends, Steve & Beth, owners of Takachs Grove!

"Takachs Grove is a great choice for outdoor weddings, offering an abundance of flowers and natural beauty surrounding an intimate lodge and an attached pavilion. Originally opened in 1970 for summer clambakes and winter tobogganing, the historic lodge features a giant, four-sided bar in the center and original stone fireplace. Both lodge and pavilion are made of thick, local hemlock timbers. Takachs provides outdoor dining in the open-air pavilion providing fresh country air, with the option of removable, clear canvas sides in case of challenging weather. The newly renovated restrooms have plenty of space and a Bride's Room allows for the entire bridal party to enjoy their preparation time together.
