The Kilmer Mansion on Riverside Drive is an event venue for weddings, parties, recitals, and meetings. Inside you will find a grand parlor, music room, dining room, and more. A library and large social hall are also available. Outside are beautiful gardens and a large 20x40 foot covered pad. Grand architecture is on display in each of the rooms available for your occasion accommodating 25 to 200 people. A large commercial-style kitchen is available for catered parties.

WOAH! We had a busy weekend at the mansion! We are GRATEFUL!

Every private booking, every guest who registers for a public event, each visitor who signs up for a guided tour - is another dollar closer to restoring the mansion!

Friends of Kilmer Mansion is working hard to keep the mansion open and beautiful. For years to come FKM hopes that the community will share in the beautiful space, passing on the wealth of history it holds.

We are so close! So close to inviting you to book the East Porch for your next private party or join us on the porch for a cocktail!

Follow us the next few weeks as we await for the concrete to be poured!

What’s our next reno project? The North Terrace! Once the North Terrace is completed, visitors can walk the perimeter of the mansion using the South Terrace, East Porch and North Terrace!

Would you be willing to help us fund the North Terrace? You can do so by attending a public event or booking a private party.

Friends of Kilmer Mansion is a non profit organization. Our Mission? To preserve and restore the mansion so it can be shared with the community for another 125 years for enjoyment and education.

Ever hear a coyote howl in a historic mansion? Tonight is your night! Swipe to the last video!

Today we hosted the 4th TTT (Trolley Tasting Tour) with our friends Roberson Museum and Phelps Mansion!

Attendees stopped at each mansion where they received a guided tour, NY state beverage tasting, and local food bite!

The day could’ve been a bummer. The trolley broke down, a beverage vendor fell ill. But, today was incredible. The trolley company sent a bus and the beverage vendor still sent us product to fulfill their commitment to attendees! Best of all, our attendees remained grateful and excited for the event!

Thank you fellow mansions, beverage vendors, food providers and attendees - because of you, we are able to preserve Binghamton History!
Because of you, we fill our days with joy and comradery!

We are so thrilled and honored to announce - Lisa Blackwell, President for Friends of Kilmer Mansion is being recognized for VOLUNTEER FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR!🤩 Lisa Blackwell

Friends of Kilmer Mansion (FKM) was founded in October 2021.
The mission of FKM is to:
👉🏻raise funds to restore and preserve Kilmer Mansion, an architectural treasure at the Gateway of Downtown Binghamton (NY)
👉🏻share this historic landmark through programs and events that educate, delight, and explore local history.

Since FKM’s 2021 inception - Lisa has not only lead the efforts in bringing the mansion interior back to a condition to be shared with the public, but she has led the charge on restoring the mansion’s deteriorating exterior.

In 2018 studies showed the condition of the Mansion’s exterior structures (north terrace, east porch, south terrace, west porch, east chimney, and two central chimneys) were of critical concern; it also determined, that all of the structures posed a danger in their deteriorated state.

With Lisa’s leadership and an incredible board of directors..
👉🏻the East Chimney has been restored
👉🏻the community can now enjoy the South Terrace
👉🏻concrete for the East Porch will be poured next month, giving public access in Spring 2025!
👉🏻thousands of new visitors have stepped inside to admire irreplaceable interior craftsmanship & learned the history of the Kilmer family
👉🏻dozens of private events have shared in this one of a kind historic space

It was the perfect rainy cold day to cozy up in our mansion for a Snack + Craft!!

Beautiful wooden + silk colors, arranged by each individual to create the cutest fall floral pumpkin!🎃

You didn’t ask, but we’ll tell you… we snacked on pumpkin muffins, apple streusels, chocolate leaf cookies, and apple chips. Of course, there was Apple Cider too!🍎🍏

Our next Snack + Craft will be Winter Wreathes on December 8th! Registration opens soon - sold out last year!

Our Story

The Jonas M. Kilmer Mansion is the sole survivor of the four original mansions on the east end of Riverside drive . The Mansion is owned and supported by Temple Concord, a nonprofit organization.

The Mansion is home to one of the last grand parlors of the Parlor City. Built in 1898, it is part home and part castle. It features turrets and towers, ballrooms and balconies. Visitors will find fine stonework and masterful woodwork. You can savor the unique beauty of this historic treasure. Join us for tours, music concerts, and other special events!
