1. Time management. I really think that’s everyone. The thought that business owners have more free time is a misconception. We do have the freedom to do what we want when we want to but it too can be at a cost. We have deadlines to meet as well. And…if we don’t work we don’t get paid 🙁2. Financial Decisions. Who pays themselves correctly?!? 🧐 Seriously…I need to know. My year 4 I will not have the same issues. We get so caught up in scaling the business and investing that we short change our own pocket. Learning to budget as a business is important for growth and longevity. I’m getting there….if I can stop buying new balls every time I want to 🫠3. Delegation: Whew this one here. It goes in hand with number 2. Am I the only one who feels like I need more help but can’t afford more help? 🥸 I know I’m not. Learning to hire effectively is key. Get help guys! Halloween is almost here!! Are you dressing up?
Work as efficiently as possible. Whatever we can do at pick up time….we do. It makes unloading and prepping for the next a lot easier. 1. Wipe out the bounce house- sometimes there is food, drinks, face paint 😫, and stains that maybe hard to remove if they sit. So wiping it out immediately helps keep it clean and stain free. For the most part 😕2. Sort gates- Something about the gate colors all mixed up that bothers me. 😟Plus I keep them stored by color so it’s only right we keep it like that on the truck. By color and by party for set up. By color only for pick up. 🙄3. Sort balls by color. It’s so much easier to sort them from the big ball pit than digging in the totes to separate. I clean by color. So once we get them back we just wash. 🧼4. Remove the ball pit vinyl- You want to do that immediately anyway to help prevent those pesky residue marks. Sometimes you can still see the old decal. So I’ve learned to remove and clean immediately. Especially for outdoor parties! 🫤5. Pop balloons- Please! For me I have to do it then. If not….I’ll have 4 week old balloons at the warehouse. 🫣 This all helps us stay organized as much as possible. We always broadcast our wins but I want to shed light on a moment I felt failure.
Today I was supposed to transition to my new warehouse. I was suppose to post about how I’ve prayed for this and it finally happened. Well….things did not go as planned.
I found out the floor plans would change due to inspection issues…which pretty much cancelled everything. I didn’t feel much at the time when I was told the news. I just kept saying “everything happens for a reason. It’ll be okay” I actually think I was a little numb.
Today I felt disappointed and discouraged. I felt defeated. Then I was quickly reminded….God’s will not mine. It’s so easy to put all your energy into something you think is of God when it aligns with what YOU want.
Now I know God has a plan for KKP and I know we are growing out of our current space, I know we will have a warehouse soon but the time to move is not yet.
According to Isaiah 60:22, He will make it right…on His time. I need to align with Him and not the other way around. So….this is not defeat as I felt…this is redirection and realignment. I learned so much during this process so I will be able to go forward with more knowledge, more confidence, and more God.
To anyone trying to do anything….remember failure is never failure. It’s always a lesson to get you closer to your next. Learn from it, pray, smile, and keep going!
