The last few weeks have been INCREDIBLE, but an absolute whirlwind. We, collectively, have been from coast to coast, and then coast again, with about 75% of our travel being for work! We're back in Birmingham for a bit after a few fun days at the 🏰 Happiest Place on Earth 🌟 and we've got a rundown of where we've been and where we're going!

✨ NEW ON THE BLOG ✨

Our week in Destin, my hometown, over Spring Break ended with a beautiful evening on the beach with my sister and her family, my parents, and my kiddos. Destin is the place where my love of photography was born - the white sand and emerald waters are just begging to be photographed! It was so fun to be back with my toes in the sand and a camera in hand.

I loved playing around with cooler tones while editing and the constant lighting change during our sunset session kept me on my toes the whole time. I forget how different it is to take photos at the beach, after 10+ years of living in Alabama and capturing the rolling hills and lush greenery of Birmingham!

We'll be back in Destin around the 4th of July, and I've opened up a limited number of beach mini sessions if you're going to be in town too. We'll be at Grayton Beach State Park on 30A -- an absolutely beautiful beach! Dates and times are on our website, so head on over and book your session today!

The Missing Puzzle Piece | The Barn at Shady Lane | Christa & Daniel's Wedding Film | Birmingham, AL

**Click HD 1080 for Best Quality!** It's Spring Break for us this week in Birmingham - BUT WAIT - First we are so excited to premiere Christa Carroll and Daniel's wedding film from their beautiful The Barn at Shady Lane wedding a few weeks ago. Daniel and Christa met in 2015 through a mutual friend (one of Daniel's childhood friends and one of Christa's good friends from college) and immediately hit it off. They started dating a few months later and the rest is history. Daniel proposed at his parents' lake house at the end of January 2021. That is one of Christa's favorite places to spend time. They went up there with one other couple who convinced Christa they were going into town for dinner so she would get dressed up. Then Daniel took her down to the dock and proposed at sunset. Cal and Lauren were there to take videos/pictures and had set up the screened-in porch with a whole "engagement" theme (decorations, dinner, cake, etc.) while Christa was down on the dock being proposed to, so that was also a nice surprise. Jake and Madison have known each other since the 6th grade when Jake moved in next door to Madison. It wasn't until Junior year of high school that their love story began. They were stuck in the car for 4 hours together due to a snow storm, and thats when he asked her to be his girlfriend. They continued dating throughout high school and into college and supported each other even when Madison moved to Birmingham for school. One of Jake's hobbies is fixing up his vehicle for the off roads. Jake took Madison to one of their favorite off-roading spots in the Talladega National Forest and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. This day has been a long time coming! Tiffani and Brandon met on Hinge and started talking on March 6th, 2020. Their first date was at Taco Mama on March 11th. There was an instant connection and a second date was planned. Brandon wrote Tiffani a note on March 20th asking her to be his girlfriend and Tiffani happily said yes! A few days later, Tiffani got COVID. Brandon would come by and bring her food, medicine, cut her grass, and do things around the house during this time, just to be close to Tiffani and see her from a distance. After two trips to Minnesota to visit family, several hunting trips, a new baby born in the family, Tiffani helping Brandon post shoulder surgery, and lots of wonderful memories, Brandon proposed to Tiffani exactly one year from the day they started talking. The proposal happened at Birmingham Botanical Gardens with lots of help from Tiffani's twin sister, Jess, younger sister, Kaci, and Tiffani's two brother-in-laws Matt and Justin. The day after Mitchell and Elizabeth both spent yet another Valentine's Day alone. This Is what pushed Liz to download the dating app Hinge. Soon after, she matched with Mitchell. While she was still a skeptic about men on dating apps, and men in general for that matter, Mitchell seemed...different. He was kind and interested in all aspects of her life. He asked questions to get to know her and made her feel like the most special person in the world. After a few days of fruitful back and forth, Mitchell took the leap and asked Liz out on a date. Those few minutes between hitting “send” and Elizabeth responding lasted an eternity. With some hesitation still, Elizabeth took Mitchell up on his offer, and their first date was on February 21, 2019 at Pies and Pints in Birmingham. After hours of talking and fun, they were both smitten. The night ended with a surprise, as Elizabeth launched herself out of her comfort zone and took Mitchell along for a ride to an overlook of the city. They did not know that this was only the beginning of their love story. From this point forward, they worked to grow in their relationship and their love. Throughout the next few months, Mitchell continued to plan surprises and trips for the two of them to enjoy together. Then, COVID hit. Liz stayed busy being a hero, providing relentless care of COVID patients. It was a tough season for the both of them. They were separated more frequently, but they persevered and supported each other the best they knew how. They were able to deal with all of life's difficulties because they had each other. After an unexpected surgery in the summer of 2020, Mitchell took Liz to doctor’s appointments and supported her throughout the whole process.
