Have you heard of "Intentional Clutter"? This design trend is all about intentionally arranging items to make a space feel lived-in yet balanced.

Think gallery walls, layered decor, and a touch of maximalism—without being overwhelming.

What’s great about this trend is its flexibility. You can mix and match prints and art styles to create an aesthetic that is uniquely yours.

Where do you fall on the minimalism/maximalism debate?

“Birmingham, Alabama”

Birmingham was founded in 1871 at the crossing of two rail lines near one of the world’s richest deposits of minerals. The Alabama Legislature passed an act to incorporate the city on December 19, 1871.

One of the things I love most about art is the way it brings people together. Creating art allows me to connect with collectors on a personal level and spark conversations that are both meaningful and inspiring.

Hearing how my art resonates with others—whether it’s through the emotions it evokes or the stories it reminds them of—has become one of the most rewarding parts of being an artist.

Art is more than just something to admire; it’s a way to connect, share experiences, and create lasting memories. Thank you for being part of that journey with me!

Built in 1914 for B.F. Keith’s Vaudeville circuit, the Lyric is one of few theatres still existing today that was specifically designed to maximize the acoustics and close seating needed for vaudeville shows. Major stars such as the Marx Brothers, Mae West, Sophie Tucker, Will Rogers and Milton Berle played the Lyric. Berle said it was “as fine a theatre as any in New York.” During the 1920s, it was the custom to attend shows at the Lyric Theatre on Monday nights—if you could get a reservation. Tickets cost from 25 to 75 cents. In the summertime, air was fanned over two tons of ice a day to keep guests cool. Though seating was segregated, the Lyric was one of the first venues in the South where blacks and whites could watch the same show at the same time for the same price.

"Alabama Theater-Lyric" // https://shop.carrollproduction.com/warehouse-open-edition-prints/art_print_products/alabama-theater-lyric

Built in 1927 by Paramount Studios as an Alabama showcase for Paramount films.

The Alabama Theatre was used primarily as a movie palace for 55 years, with the exception of the annual Miss Alabama pageant and the weekly Mickey Mouse Club. In 1987, the owners of the facility declared bankruptcy and the theatre was purchased by Birmingham Landmarks Inc., a non-profit corporation.

The new Alabama Theatre for the Performing Arts hosts many live events, as well as films. Each year the Theatre hosts over 150 events attended by a 150,000 Birmingham area citizens.

In 1998, the Theatre underwent a complete front door to back door restoration. The work was done by EverGreene Studios from New York City. In 8 months, the theatre went from its look of faded grandeur to a sparkling 1927 look with all the gold leaf paint either replaced or cleaned. In addition to the restoration, new carpet was installed in the ladies lounge and new drapes were installed on the stage and organ chambers.

How do you choose wall art that matches your space’s color scheme? Whether you’re working with a specific palette or a mix of hues, here’s a simple approach to finding the perfect match:

1️⃣ Identify the three main colors in your room, including the walls and ceiling.
2️⃣ Look for artwork that features one or more of those colors to tie everything together.
3️⃣ Experiment with creative lighting to emphasize warm or cool tones and enhance the art’s impact.

And if all else fails, go with what you love! The right size, shape, and positioning can make any choice a showstopper.

What’s your favorite way to match art to your space?
