One of the most frequent questions is, “how did you find this place?” It’s actually kind of a funny story. We found this house and property (which had been abandoned for 3ish years, we’re still not exactly sure how long) when we weren’t looking at all 🙈. One of Kyle’s buddies had a side gig which included taking trash out of foreclosed houses to get them ready to be put on the market. Kyle would help out whenever he could (trashing out houses, is what they’d call it 😂). His buddy asked him to help with this house, but he was busy so he wasn’t able to help. The following Monday they ran into each other at their full time job and started chatting about how the “trash out” had gone and what it looked like etc. I remember Kyle coming home from work and telling me about it. How it was an old abandoned farmhouse with a wrap around porch that had land (at that time I had no idea how much), I was like, “ummmm, we have got to go check it out!” It wasn’t even on the market at this point 😂. Typically foreclosures can take months to years to get listed. No joke 3 weeks later we got the call and it was going to be listed that week!! Whaaat???? We weren’t looking to move, we had a nice house, a 3 year old, a 1 year old, and I was 7 months pregnant 😳, but…we didn’t let that stop us. Once it was listed we put our absolute best offer in and the rest was history 😂😂.
Everyone thought we were crazy. The renovation was just the outlet I needed, Kyle might say otherwise 🤔🙈. There isn’t an inch of this 1887 house that hasn’t been touched. It was gutted to the studs, tons (literally TONS) of lbs of lath and plaster was pulled, a new subfloor laid, new plumbing, heating, electrical, crooked ceilings were corrected with beams, you name it it’s done. It definitely holds a peace of our hearts. Bringing this pile of rubbish that so many might just tear down, back to life, and being able to share the beautiful property with so many makes my heart so so happy. If you or anyone you know are looking for a place where you truly are treated like family on your wedding day and throughout your entire wedding planning process, from the day you sign the contract to the day of your wedding. Look no further 🫶

Thankful. 6 years today was move in day. With 3 month old, 1 year old, and 4 year in tow. Undertaking a crazy project like this isn’t for the faint of heart. We hit high highs and low lows, but we kept on trucking and boy are we glad we did. What started as an abandoned farmhouse renovation, led to hosting weddings for only friends and family has turned into so much more and we are forever grateful 🫶 Day 1-Day 180 (move in day) of renovation.

🤍🥺 There’s no doubt God put this amazing couple on our property for a reason. These two are truly something special, the most genuine people who have hearts of gold. I’m not sure how we’ve gotten so lucky but we’ve worked with some of the best couples. I knew from the second they toured we’d be the perfect fit. Getting close to these two and forming a relationship was such a gift. Their day was nothing short of magical. To make it even more special her mom, who she is so close to officiated the wedding 🥹 I simply could not be more happy for these two. It was an absolute honor being such a big part of their day 🤍

11/10 recommend choosing a non-traditional song to dance to with your mom and having the best time dancing together! This had to be one of my favorite mother-son dances, their energy lit up the room 🥹

The best seat in the house ❤️ When we bought the farmhouse we ran into so many issues we hadn’t even thought of. We had to cut so many things. This deck was falling apart so bad, there were nails hammered right through the deck boards, because of that it was raining in what is now our family room. I didn’t care what we had to do to get it rebuilt or what I would have to cut to save it. This upper deck was one thing that I wasn’t willing to budge on. This. This makes the house. The views from up here are incredible and although I might’ve had to cut a few other things to save this little gem it was sooooo worth it. • • • #theweddingshedonbuttonspond #farmhouse #sunset #sunsetviews #deck #upperdeck #oldhouselove #oldhouse #farmhousestyle #summervibes #summernights #sunsetlover #farmhouselove #abandonded #foreclosure #chippewavalley
If you’ve been on the fence about renting farmhouse tables this might just seal the deal they pair amazing with our mismatched dining chairs 😍😍 You can rent them through our friends at Sweet Legacy. Aren’t they just gorgeous???!
