Hyland Hills Ski Area Located within Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington, Hyland Hills is the place for downhill skiing and snowboarding in the Twin Cities metro area.

Hyland Hills Ski Area is located within Three Rivers Park District Hyland Lake Park Reserve, minutes from the Mall of America, just south of Interstate 494 and Highway 100 in Bloomington, Minnesota. Hyland is known for some of the best snowmaking and grooming in the Midwest and its terrain park is full of progressive and innovative features. The 1,000-acre park reserve features extensive winter re

creational activities including lighted cross-country ski trails, snowshoe trails and a Nordic ski jumping complex. The ski area has a top elevation of 1075 ft. that is served by 8 different lifts day and night. Hyland is recognized nationally for one of the finest snow sports academies, with over 325 instructors and programs for every level of skier or rider.

Only seemed fitting that after during the polar vortex with us over the weekend that Big Park gets a complete reworking. Morning maintenance staff out in the work to make dreams a reality. Remember to always obey posted fencing and ribbons and give our maintenance crew and equipment some distance while they are working!

Hours Update! We are adjusting operating hours the next 2 days. Hyland Hills will be open 9am-6pm on 1/19 and 9am-5pm on Monday 1/20. All lessons are on as scheduled. Bundle up and take advantage of great snow conditions and short lift lines!

With cold temperatures in the forecast - let's take a minute to go over our cold weather policies.

The hill stays open, with all lessons and programs running as usual, until the air temps reach -25 degrees or the wind chill reaches -35 degrees; measured at the hill. If the hill does need to close due to weather, we will send an email to all lesson and program participants.

We are unable to reschedule lessons. We understand if you chose not to attend your group lesson - please come back and visit us again using your group lesson brochure voucher.

We will not put our participants in danger. Instructors are trained for teaching in cold weather and will give warm up breaks, as necessary throughout the lessons.

Dress for the weather! Lots of layers, warm winter gear... keeping skin covered. The Hyland Retail Store is stocked with balaclavas, hoods, gaiters, goggles and gloves.

So bundle up and we will see you at the hill! âť„âť„âť„

Still wasn’t sold on the 6” at the top, and the mustrash rail really wasn’t it so 6 more changes tonight to round off this mayhem. Donkey to down at the top of the Hollywood side. For the chicken nuggets, a low and a high double barrel, trap butter box, half bow to flat down, and mellow yellow. Should pretty well do it for the weekend unless ding and d**g have a commitment level spike.

Might as well just keep the train moving. Small park layout seems much better so back to our regular scheduled programming. S Rail, Launch Rail, and a launch dance pad go into big park. Longer 6” rail at the top, whale tail, purple tube, a frame box, a small jump, and our new mustache rail go into small park for anyone that’s willing to fight the arctic tundra with us this week.

Layout was trash so we’ll try anotha one.

⚠️Big jump in small got a much needed rebuild⚠️.

Added a table to the top of the rope line with a 6” tube and urban as a down.

In the middle, swapped the rails in the center for the jump on the right. Now there’s a 15’ table top and a 25’ hip in the center, and up flat 6” rails where the jump was.

And the kids wanted the construction zone back so the kids get what the kids want.

Little rearrangement in big park to add a couple features for a Nybira comp happening this weekend. The two tubes were bumped to the north to make room for two boxes.

Competition will be Friday night and Saturday morning which will result in big park being closed for parts of the day. Friday Night, Big Park will close at 4:45 for practice at 5PM. Comp starts at 6:30 and the park will open once it is finished. Saturday morning practice starts at 9, the comp starts at 10, and big park will be open sometime around noon.

Good morning! It's going to be a great day to get out and play in the new year. We fired up the snowmaking system last night to freshen things up, and the snow should be perfect to make some laps. Lifts turn 9am-9pm today. Borealis is temporarily closed for snowmaking.
