IMPENDING WEATHER ADVISORY- (Tuesday 2/13/24)

All trucks and routes will be running on normal schedule if not ahead of schedule so that we may safely return home. IF we are unable to collect your trash due to unsafe road conditions, collection will be double the following week on your normal collection day.

Foughts Disposal Service Inc. reserves the right to cancel collection service on days or in areas in which we deem the roads are unsafe due to snow or ice. Although an individual may feel their road is fine to travel in their personal vehicle, we will NOT put our staff, our equipment or your lives in jeopardy. It will hold just fine for one more week. There may be no makeup runs. There will not be adjustments to bills.

Remember white bags are hard to see in snow. Please make sure that all trash is placed in open areas free of snow and ice. If you have shoveled out for the postman, why not the trashman. Please make sure that all bags are free of snow and ice, why pay for it.

It's this time of year again. Same time every year and same concerns every year. Let us all work together to get everyone home safe and sound at the end of the day. Although it is important, it is trash.

Today we laid to rest one of our own, Jacob Hoagland. 25 trucks, from 10 different companies. There is no doubt in our minds, this young man was smiling from ear to ear as he went to his final resting place with this es**rt. The tears were true and the heartache as real. The camaraderie amongst competitors can be something of beauty when it needs to be. Today, we came together as one, to bid farewell until we meet again.

As many have seen or heard, Foughts Disposal Service Inc. lost one of its own on Monday in a tragic accident that has left us speechless.

Jacob was a hard working, super respectful, gem of a guy. Every single person he came in contact with made a comment of how nice and respectful he was. Attached is a screen shot from his page expressing his gratitude, not only for the company but also the man he was working with. You don’t have to have known him to be able to understand him.

In the past two days, we’ve had hundreds of calls, text messages and emails, from people expressing their condolences. Not a single one is forgotten. From family and friends to complete strangers, the support has been phenomenal. Fellow haulers Knorr Hauling, Swisher Disposal, Eco 1st Logistics - Waste Management, Prestige Disposal, Jim Thomas, Yonish Enterprise, ABC Hauling, Tom’s Truck Sales and many more, showed why this is such a great industry.

Many have asked what they can do or how they can help. There are a few options out there from donation jars to The Scoreboard Restaurant donating 10% of all proceeds on 10/7, from 11AM-9PM. We’d simply ask to make a donation directly to the family, Heller Funeral Home or to our office in person or have dinner at the Scoreboard. This way the funds can go directly to the family to help with any unforeseen expenses in the near future.

God has a plan. It’s our job to follow it. We may not know why, but it’s part of the plan. May you have eternal peace my friend!!
