Let me tell you…when I told my friend that I could provide hot meals if she knew anyone in Avery County who needed them, she jumped right on it! Tasha has been a huge help in her community with Hurricane Relief efforts, and this was no exception! She got her “girl squad “ in order, made a flyer, and had folks lined up to get hot meals today when I delivered! I just love it when things come together ❤️‍🩹 Thank you also to my girl for providing Stickboy cookies for the occasion! I just love my community and the love we share for one another!

Today’s adventure took me to Banner Elk, NC to deliver 50 hot meals to folks displaced by Hurricane Helene, and who are still staying in local hotels. I also dropped a few meals to my friends at Thanks to generous donations from friends, family, and even previous clients, I have been able to share my love of food with those affected by the hurricane, and/or the brutal cold temps we’ve been having. I’ve got one more week of providing hot, nutritious, homemade food to local folks in need💙

Thanks to your kindness and generosity, I was able to feed the staff at who have set up and manage a free store for those in need to come and get supplies. They are doing great work and I’m happy to give them “fuel” to keep going! Today I delivered 2 huge pans of corn pudding and 2 huge pans of sweet potatoes/brussel sprouts/red pepper medley, 3 charcuterie boards, and cherry cobbler (thanks to for dessert!) to the local homeless shelter. serves 5 counties and has been overflowing with hurricane victims needing assistance in addition to the others. Thanks to and for preparing the meats and a side! Again, could not do this without my family and friends donating. I’ll be winding down mid January. Thank you for trusting me to make a difference! Holiday cocktail parties are one of my favorite things about this season, especially when it’s clients who ask you to do theirs year after year! I love a good cocktail party 🎉🍸🎄🥃❤️🥂

Yesterday, I delivered 40 hot chicken pot pie casserole meals to Foscoe Home Team. These folks are working hard to offer a free store where people can come pick up anything they need. They are focused on hurricane relief, and are doing amazing work! Their lease is up in March, so they are trying to buy the building that they are housed in. Today we fed the backside of Beech Mountain and the surrounding communities a hot meal of Chicken Tetrazzini, Salad, and rollls. They are open 12-3 for folks to come by and get supplies and a hot meal on Saturdays. I am able to continue this effort of feeding folks affected by Hurricane Helene because of the generous donations from wonderful friends. I plan on continuing through Christmas❤️💚

Delivered 50 delicious hot meals to today. They have an amazing team working hard out there going through donations, cutting fire wood, organizing, etc.! This is a store they set up in the Grandfather Community Center, next to the Grandfather Campground in Foscoe. If you have a need, please go there!

Oh my….today was a hard but rewarding one. We made 50 containers of Italian Beef and Tomato Casserole with Polenta Crust and delivered it out to Poga/Elk Mills area, just over the TN line. It’s a war zone out there. The worst destruction I’ve seen in all of my food deliveries. We dropped food at the old fire department (it was swept away in the storm), then we headed up to Bob’s Island Store where we met Shay who was navigating things from there. She was getting ready for a fish fry, but gladly accepted a few to offer folks a “variety.” Then the magic happened. We headed down to the local church where we heard a group was gathering. When we drove up, I wasn’t sure if they were in the middle of outdoor sermon, or what, but I gingerly made my way over and mentioned we had hot food, and they turned around and were like, “I’m starving, I’ll take one, and I’ll take one, and so on.” It turns out, they were Kim Ashby’s family still out diligently looking for her❤️‍🩹. For those who don’t know, her and her husband came up to check their home in Elk Park during the storm, and were swept away by the flood waters. Her husband was able to get to the bank, she was not. We were a long ways from her house. These people have been searching for 4 weeks. A group from Missouri had driven here to help, and were heading back, so they were happy for a hot meal. To say we got chills is an understatement. I will say, we have been led to where people need us. Saying a prayer that they find 💜🌈❤️‍🩹

Today I made 15 quarts and Brunswick Stew and delivered to a couple families that were displaced by the storm, and also to the wonderful DOT crew working tirelessly on our road (Payne Branch) and many others in our area. Special thank you to for smoking the pork that became the inspiration for the stew!

Moondance Catering, Blowing Rock, partnered with Myers Kitchen to do a fundraising High Country Boil dinner tonight. We sold out in less than an hour, with over 200 meals served. So thankful for this community and the support! Fundraising money is going directly to rural areas in NW North Carolina, who were some of the areas hit hardest by Hurricane Helene. Wednesday I’ll be delivering homemade Brunswick Stew to those in need! Hit me up if you know someone that could use a hot meal.

I’ve been a little preoccupied this week dealing with a bear who has discovered my bees and the place I keep all of the bee stuff in, but I’ll be back to helping feed this amazing community next week, starting with this fundraising dinner Monday!
