Hi Everyone, after a long hiatus from Facebook, Blue Hill FarmDrop wants to invite you back to our online community, to participate in our online farmers market and storytelling efforts.
Our Blue Hill hub where all the magic happens is located at Tilth Arts and Agriculture a project of Bill Giordano, at the old Hancock Organic Growers Alliance space, now owned by Blue Hill Heritage Trust (Address: 208 Ellsworth Rd - across from the Fairgrounds, before the ARC). How to participate in FarmDrop? You order online from local farms Friday - Monday and pickup Wednesday. It is an amazing group of farmers, so please browse our shop, and create an account, and start shopping for your local goods through FarmDrop >> https://farmdrop.us/shop/?markethub=bluehill&pickup_id=0

Please use coupon Summer2023 as a welcome back coupon, and share this post so we can galvanize support around our farms. This year has been hard for farmers with all the rain and lack of sun, and our ability to pay them directly and in advance through FarmDrop is a big help. Thank you in advance!

Our Story

GSA is partnering with FarmDrop.us to support local food systems on the Blue Hill Peninsula. Started in Blue Hill 6 years ago, FarmDrop is an online farmers’ market where customers can select local fresh products from many different producers, and adopt a simple weekly pick-up system.

Blue Hill FarmDrop’s mission is to support student education around local food systems, entrepreneurship, and community food access. GSA families, staff and friends are invited to participate by adopting the weekly order cycle at FarmDrop. Ordering pauses from Wednesday 10am to Thursday 5pm, during which time orders are getting aggregated and prepared for customers. Orders are ready for pick-up Thursday 2-5pm Fairwinds. Students, GSA Families, & Friends can pick up at GSA Cafeteria Thursdays 2-3pm, and stay to enjoy some Music and Coffee and if lucky get to meet some of the farmers. Every time a community member orders on FarmDrop, 10% gets added to their cart (max $10), which will go towards supporting school lunch access and education programs. For every $50 spent on FarmDrop customers are supporting 1 student lunch at GSA.

Across Maine, FarmDrop partners with three other communities to deliver the FarmDrop experience to Mount Desert Island, Unity, and Portland, where they also support student and community food security. For any questions about FarmDrop, please be in touch with Hannah Semler [email protected] of FarmDrop.us, or contact Rob Cushman [email protected] at George Stevens Academy, for Blue Hill FarmDrop.
