Our Story

The Welfare Cafe has been in operation for over for 20 years. Housed in the 1915 Welfare General Store and Post Office, the Cafe offers Texas Hill Country fare with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. This year we are pleased to announce Jared Campbell, formerly of Bon Vivant in Telluride, CO and will be working with Gabriele McCormick to provide seasonally coursed tasting menus. Reservations are available Friday and Saturday, at 6:00pm and 8:00pm at the Farm Table for 8 guests and Jake’s Table for 6 guests.
