Now, About us!

MEET ZACH GREATTING: Zach has been involved in food from a very young age cooking for his family and throwing dinner parties for friends rather than sleepovers. His love for food eventually brought him to culinary school in Chicago and a formal wine program in Napa. As a Chef and Sommelier, Zach started Brix Catering & Events in Chicago with his wife Julia and business partner Joe Gancarz. Brix grew from a small dinner party/home event business to a full scale catering company handling weddings, corporate catering, and social events in Chicago for the past seven years. A love for the west and a sense of adventure now brings Zach to the Boise area to build something new. He is excited to share his passion for food and wine in the Treasure Valley with the new Boise Bite food truck and continue catering for both social and corporate events. Zach’s love for the mountains, snowboarding, fly fishing, and sharing the river with Charlie, his Chocolate Labrador, all make Boise the perfect place for this great new adventure. MEET JULIA GREATTING: Julia knew from a very early age that she wanted to plan events. From arranging flowers, to pulling all of the details together Julia has always excelled when it comes to the perfect party. A degree in International Business led to her first job in political fundraising, specifically setting up events. From there Julia moved to the corporate setting, spending several years with Marriott planning large scale corporate events in Chicago. Julia was then offered a position running the catering division for Pastoral, all the while helping her now husband start Brix. Julia is pleased to be on board full time making sure our events are not only executed perfectly, but also have a special touch that only a family business can bring.
