Thoroughly enjoying these beautiful paper whites. I bring them to different parts of my house, as my day progresses. They make me so happy. Winter flower essence. One of my all time favorite birthdays. My friend Juanita called me and said “I’m at Edwards Greenhouse. Come over. It’s so beautiful here.” So I went over and we walked around and we came to this table all set up. I admired it and commented and went up to look more closely and there was a card that said “Happy Birthday Melissa” Juanita had set it all up and brought us lunch and Mocktails. It was warm (geothermal heat there) and so green and beautiful and delicious. Thanks Juanita again for this very special birthday.

Edwards Greenhouse has the most beautiful arrangements for the Holidays. I highly recommend a visit. And their poinsettia and Amaryllis are on sale. Always heart warming to go to Edwards at this time of year.

I attended a wonderful writers’ launch party last night put on by The Backyard Artists-a non- profit here in Boise that helps artists to get out into the world….They launched a newly published book called Paper Plane Press, which included 13 writers who all read their work. It was so well done and I was very impressed by everyone involved. To find out more check out: and .plane.press And, purchase a copy of Volume One of the Paper Plane Press.
Wheelhouse Press was also there printing bookmarks. I hope to do a collaboration class with them in the future and their letterpress.

I had been wanting to use this little tree for my Christmas tree for a couple years. It was growing right by my sidewalk. Today was the day after 5+ years of growing. It took about 30 seconds to saw it down and as it fell I said “Aaaah, poor little tree.” But now it’s all fancy and cute and lighting up my living room on these dark evenings. Thank you little tree.
