Predictions for 2025 Event Trends
Today we take a deep dive into the event trends we are seeing in 2025. From micro events to hybrid events we will explore what is on the horizon for our industry in what has been dubbed an experience economy.
TREND (IN): Experience Economy
-We’re living in an experience economy, where value isn’t just measured in pipeline and revenue.
-Events are not only measured by ROI, but measured in how it makes people feel and creating moments they talk about long after the event ends
-41% of companies are doubling down on hosting more events in 2025
-The magic happens when you focus on creating experiences that bring people together
TREND (IN): Micro Event
-50 attendees or less
-From 2023 to 2024 in-person micro events jumped 16%
-Companies investing in micro events are 15% more likely to have an average year-over-year growth rate of 20% or more
-People prefer micro events because personalization and connection are brought to the forefront of the event
-Nearly half (45%) of event pros say their companies are getting serious about micro events this year
TREND (OUT): Hybrid Events
-Hybrid events are being viewed as lukewarm
-Engagement is not high enough at approximately 54%
-Cost of hybrid events exceeds the return which essentially results in negative ROI
-Planners and attendees agree that hybrid events take away from event experience for in-person attendees.
-Hybrid events leave everyone feeling meh, rather than saying they can’t wait to do that again.
