Each year The Sembrich presents a summer festival including live concerts, films, children’s programming, and presentations featuring world-class musicians. The Sembrich’s popular outdoor World Music Wednesday series features inspired multicultural lakeside performances. Indoor events are held within the intimate setting of the studio museum, a superb venue with excellent acoustics. Listed on the

National Historic Register, The Sembrich was once part of the summer estate of Polish opera singer Marcella Sembrich (1858-1935), a leading prima donna at The Metropolitan Opera and a founding member of the voice faculties for the Juilliard School and The Curtis Institute of Music. Upon her passing, Sembrich’s lakeside teaching studio was transformed into a museum preserving her legacy. The museum contains memorabilia of her distinguished career, with accolades from colleagues including Brahms, Puccini, and Verdi. Also featured are a working Victrola, Sembrich’s original Steinway piano, opera costumes, art, furniture, photographs, and tributes. Stroll along pristine shoreline paths on 4.5 acres and enjoy picturesque views of the Adirondack Mountains and Lake George, the “Queen of America’s Lakes.” Bring family and friends and enjoy a lakeside lunch beneath the majestic pines on secluded Hydrangea Bay. Carry-in carry-out picnicking is welcomed and encouraged. Experience The Sembrich! Visit today for a unique blend of Music, History, and Nature! We were delighted to share music and family fun with our Bolton Landing community this summer!
Last week, gave an awesome program in Roger’s Park introducing children to the reed instruments of the orchestra! We were so excited to be joined by 140 participants!
This week, we brought to The Sembrich for a performance of “Dragon’s Breath,” a charming children’s opera by Evan Mack, exploring the themes of coping with anger and other difficulties faced by young people. We eere so excited to see some familiar faces and welcome many new ones! This event welcomed over 90 local children and their families!
A big shoutout to and the Town of Bolton for their sponsorship of both of these great events.

Cheres - Music from the Carpathian Mountains
Wednesday, July 24 - 2 PM
Based in New York City, the Ukrainian ensemble's folk repertoire features instrumentals from the mountains of Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, Hungary, and neighboring Eastern European countries. The group is led by Andriy Milavsky, clarinetist and master piper, whom one reviewer called “the Charlie Parker of Ukraine.”

Peter and the Wolf with WindSync
Thursday, July 25 - 11:00 AM
This delightful performance for the entire family shares a tale of animal friends and bravery, introducing five wind instruments of the orchestra. Based on the classic story by Sergei Prokofiev and complete with costumes and choreography, WindSync's
unique and interactive approach to musical appreciation is sure to delight kids of all ages!

WindSync — Woodwind Quintet
Saturday, July 27 - 7:00 PM
WindSync has established itself as a vibrant chamber ensemble performing classical masterworks, adapting beloved music to their instrumentation, and championing new works by today’s composers. The quintet eliminates the "fourth wall" between musicians and audience by often performing from memory, creating an intimate connection. This personal performance style, combined with the ensemble’s three-pronged mission of artistry, education, and community-building, lends WindSync its reputation as ”a group of virtuosos who are also wonderful people, too" (Alison Young, Classical MPR).

Wed. 6/19 at 7PM - A JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION
Celebrate Juneteenth with The Sembrich and Opera Saratoga! Celebrated composer Anthony Davis, soprano Christine Jobson, bass-baritone Carl DuPont, and pianist Alan Johnson will present selections from Davis' acclaimed operas, all portraying momentous actions and engagements crucial to Black Americans.

Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Anthony Davis is celebrated internationally for his operatic, orchestral, choral, and chamber works. Opera News calls him “a national treasure” for his pioneering music, while The New York Times recognizes him as one of the “great living American composers.” Just this year OPERA America inducted Davis into its Hall of Fame. Davis is best known for his eight operas. He was the first composer to write in a new American genre: opera on a contemporary political subject. He uses music to address power structures in a way that creates awareness, empathy, and understanding.

Experience The Sembrich

Experience world-class music, intriguing history, and repose in the serene nature of the Adirondack forest on the shores of Lake George. Founded in 1940, The Sembrich is a unique cultural experience. Once the teaching studio of Polish-American soprano Marcella Sembrich, the property was preserved and opened to the public as a memorial to preserve and perpetuate her legacy. A haven where arts and nature meet, The Sembrich has been in continuous operation since its opening and has hosted several of today’s greatest artists.

The Museum is open each June through September.
