Dear Friends and Lovers of Chamber Music,
As the new artistic director of the Heath Recital Series, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our second concert season! This concert series continues to reward Southwest Florida with access to some of the world's finest musicians, many of whom call Southwest Florida their home.
As many of you know, this recital series grew out of William Fleischer's visionary idea that a violin shop could host world class concerts while showcasing our amazing, local talent.
The series is named in honor of Loree Heath Fleischer, the mother of Violin Shop owner William Fleischer. Her encouragement and dedication to her son's artistic development is a tribute to all parental support for arts education.
Our 2012-2013 season promises to be full of exciting performances!
As always, the Heath Recital Series will feature musicians from the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra and prominent teacher artists from around Southwest Florida. The Violin Shop will always be a place that our community artists can proudly call home.
As you know, in the past, we have donated all proceeds to Breast Cancer research. The musicians have kindly donated their fees to the same cause. This year, and in he future, we will be paying the musicians which will substantially increase our concert overhead. To this end, we will be increasing admission fees from $15 to $20-$25 per person. Our series will run October through April to include six wonderful chamber music programs. As always we will serve a light buffet and bubbly after the concert. Previously, we have taken reservations due to our limited seating. This year, the concert fee will need to be prepaid to reserve admission. You may purchase tickets at the door, IF AVAILABLE. Please call The Violin Shop at 239 947 2925 to make your reservation.
I can hardly contain my excitement for this year's series! I look forward to meeting and talking with many of you at every one of our recitals, and I hope that you will bring your friends, family, students, and colleagues, too.
Sincerely,
John T. Posadas
Artistic Director, Heath Recital Series
