Since 1979, The Appalachian Marching Band Festival has been an arduous and educational tradition, through The Hayes School of Music, which has provided an environment for high school bands to showcase their musical talent and achievements and receive professional feedback. Each year the festival is attended by 15-20 bands and thousands of students, parents, and spectators from around the Southeast
. The Appalachian Marching Band Festival is a North Carolina Bandmasters Association (NCBMA) Official State Sanctioned Event.
2015 is the 36th Anniversary of The Appalachian Marching Band Festival. This year's festival will take place on October 24th, 2015 in Kidd Brewer Stadium at Appalachian State University. As part of the Hayes School of Music, the festival is hosted by the Rho Tau Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Ticket Prices Are:
$10 for Adults
$5 for Students (with student ID), Senior Citizens (65+), Active Duty Military (valid ID only), and Children (5-12 years old). Free for Children under 5
