Appalachian Opera Theatre Experience opera in the High Country from the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University, under the direction of Dr. Gennard Lombardozzi.

Between The Hayes School of Music and The Schaefer Center for Performing Arts, Appalachian State University forms a thriving cultural center for the arts in North Carolina. Appalachian Opera Theatre brings a rich tradition of opera performances, including fully staged productions with orchestra and concert performances. Recently performed works include The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, and Gianni Schicchi by Puccini.
