We are excited to announce our upcoming open community show, 'The Work of Skilled Hands': A Fine Craft Exhibition!

No works from kits or patterns will be accepted.

Here is a list of mediums that the show committee suggested, but you are most certainly not limited to: Fiber Arts include quilting, weaving, felting, knitting, crochet, and embroidery, etc.; Basketry; Wood Burning; Ceramics; Jewelry; Metal Arts; Woodworking; Mosaics; Glass Works; Doll Making; Puppetry; Bookbinding; Beading; Macrame; Origami, and many more!

Please help us spread the word about this show!

OFFICIALS of the 73rd NYS Woodsmen's Field Days Have Canceled the 2020 Event in Boonville, NY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the NYS Woodsmen's Field Days, Inc., it is with a heavy heart that I must announce that the 2020 NYS Woodsmen's Field Days is canceled. The 73rd event, which was scheduled to be held in Boonville, NY on August 21, 22, & 23, will not be held due to the COVID 19 Virus. Our event attracts visitors from across the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and our European contestants. The safety of our volunteer family, the citizens of the village of Boonville, NY, our spectators, exhibitors, contestants, and food vendors is our number one concern.

We know that we are unable to secure our operating permits for a mass gathering and our temporary campground. Coupled with the fact that, due to current regulations, there is no way that we are able to safely socially space our thousands of visitors and participants. Furthermore, the fact that there is no vaccine for the COVID 19 Virus speaks volumes.

Our planning staff will continue to plan for the 2021 event. Our organization extends a huge thank you to all of our dedicated members of our volunteer family, event spectators, contestants, sponsors, exhibitors and vendors that have supported us over the years. We hope you all remain safe and healthy until we see you in Boonville, NY on August 20, 21, & 22, 2021 for the 74th NYS Woodsmen's Field Days.

It is with great sadness that we announce that the 2020 Lumberjack World Championship have been postponed until 2021.

A note from the Board of the Lumberjack World Championships Foundation—
“The Lumberjack World Championships Foundation board of directors has made the difficult decision to reschedule the 61st Annual Lumberjack World Championships competition and festival from summer 2020 until July 29 - 31, 2021.

The decision to reschedule was made after careful deliberation, knowing that our foremost responsibility is to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our athletes, volunteers, spectators, staff, and our greater community at large. The current continuing public health threat of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States and around the globe is one of uncertainty and we know it is the responsible action to take in light of what is happening. We and our competitors look forward to next year and making the 2021 Lumberjack World Championships better than ever!”

“At this point the Fryeburg Fair hopes to hold the fair in October but we recognize that there are a lot of variables involved and we at this point believe that we have until early June to make the call. Unless something happens in the meantime that makes a call for us. But right now we’re hopeful for a fair but we just don’t know what will happen between now and then.” says David Hastings, Vice President and Finance Director of the Fryeburg Fair.

In the past few weeks the Lancaster, Sandwich and Stratham Fairs have been cancelled. It’s not just because of the virus, some fairs depend on advanced advertising money and this year, with closed…
