This week’s “Where Are They Now” Wednesday is RAJ (Robert Anthony Jones) ! ❤️🎠

RAJ worked at the Carousel for five years from the late 90’s to the early 2000’s. He’s come back for concerts, family trips, and most recently, to pay tribute to his true friend, mentor, and staple at the Carousel, Dominic Garvey.

Since leaving the playhouse, RAJ has traveled the globe internationally playing Edna in Hairspray, stopping at Madison Square Garden to originate the role of Jinx in The 101 Dalmatians Musical, directed by Jerry Zaks. He has performed on Broadway in Finding Neverland as Mr. Cromer at the Lunt-Fontaine theatre and closed the show in the final company, played Monsieur Reyer in the National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera. He currently resides in New York City with his husband and amazing son and pup. Currently, he’s finishing up a run at Forestburgh Playhouse as Fester in Addams Family and Miss Trunchbull in Matilda. He still uses songs that Dominic gave him all those years ago at the Carousel for auditions.

Since then she has performed across the country at regional equity houses, Disney Cruise Line and is currently finishing her contract in the National Tour of Madagascar!!

This Week’s “Where Are They Now Wednesday” is Pedro Coppeti! ❤️🎠

Pedro performed at the Carousel during the summers of 2018 and 2022!

He was featured at the Broadway By The Year Concert at the Town Hall in NYC. Played Quasimodo in Hunchback of Notre Dame’s Brazilian Production.

During the holiday season he was one of the main soloists in Nativitaten, the largest known outdoors christmas show in the world in Gramado, Brazil.

Besides that, Pedro works as a vocal coach and unites over 1 million followers in his social media presence.

He is currently teaching and coaching actors for the big upcoming musicals in Brazil and abroad.

This week’s Sunday Spotlight is Sydney Weiser (She/Her)!

Sydney Weiser grew up in West Hartford, CT before moving to NYC.

As a returning cast member, she is excited to direct Liberty Belles which opens August 8!

She is also excited to share good music with Boothbay and the talented cast, and savor Boothbay sights and flavors!

Favorite credits include Betty Jean (The Marvelous Wonderettes), Sandy (The Spongebob Musical), and Chana/Halina/Vera swing (Indecent).

In addition to being an actor/director, Sydney is a proud aunt, snow globe collector, lemon lover, and habitual hobbyist.

You can see Sydney this summer in both Boogie Down & Liberty Belles! 🎠❤️

This Week’s “Where Are They Now Wednesday” is Laura Lites! 🎠❤️

Laura was at The Carousel in the Summer of 2010.

Since then,she moved to Dallas, Texas and have been working professionally in the theaters out there for over 10 years.

Some of her highlights have been Francesca in Bridges of Madison County (pictured here), Pamela in Head Over Heels, Emma in Lizzie, Narrator in Murder Ballad, and many others.

She also has been in productions of Hair and Les Miserables at the Regional Tony Award winning theater, Dallas Theater Center!

This fall, Laura will be playing Hedda Hopper in a production of Chaplin at Watertower theater this fall!

This Week’s Sunday Spotlight is Zion Hall (He/Him)!

He is from East Providence, Rhode Island and is a recent graduate of Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts with a BA in Theatre with a concentration in Musical Theatre!

Zion is very excited to return to the Carousel! You may have seen him last year as Gilligan in Gilligan’s Island the Musical!

He is looking forward to performing with a cast full of talented, passionate and uplifting individuals along with being back in Boothbay Harbor where he is able to work and be on vacation at the same time!

Some of his favorite past roles include Tom Collins in Rent, Sheriff Earl in All Shook Up and Jesus of Nazareth in Jesus Christ Superstar.

He is looking forward to playing Smudge in Forever Plaid at Cornwell’s Dinner Theatre this Fall!

On top of performing, Zion loves marketing and serves as the social media manager for Carousel Music Theater!!

You can catch Zion in Boogie Down as DJ Max from now through August 5! 🎠❤️

Meet Our Director for Boogie Down and Carousel Alumni, Michelle Bruckner!🎠❤️

Michelle did the entire summer and fall season of 1990 and returned for the fall of 1991!

She loves the many friends she’s made at the Carousel between the cast, artistic team, crew, and audience.

She is so excited to be back as “a ride on the Carousel is forever” and deeply honor and remember her work with the late, great, Dominic Garvey.

Maine, Boothbay Harbor in particular, is my favorite part of the United States.

When she is not singing, dancing, acting directing or choreographing or teaching, Michelle is hunting for vintage treasures to curate for her online shop,

We are so blessed to have had Michelle’s insight and leadership as the director and choreographer of our production of Boogie Down!

She was at carousel the summer of 2022!

Shaughnessey recently graduated with her second degree from the University of Southern Maine.

She currently is costuming the entire season at Hackmatack Playhouse in Berwick, ME and then she is playing Sandy in SpongeBob the Musical at the Rochester Opera House in Rochester, NH!

She’s from sunny Miami, Florida. She claims that she “always gotta be representing the 305! “

She is so excited to be apart of the Carousel Music Theater Summer Season because she gets to share new experiences with very creative, fun, and charismatic people.

Making friends and singing her heart out is what she is looking forward to doing the most !

Her hobbies include playing the ukelele, drawing, and painting.

One of her absolute dream roles in musical theater has to be Rose from Dogfight

One fun fact about her is that she has never met Pitbull (and where she’s from, that’s a big deal!!)

Meet Our Music Director and Carousel Alumni, Ashley Grace Ryan! ❤️🎠

Ashley is from Hartford, Connecticut and has performed as a cast member during the summers of 2017 & 2018.

Ashley Grace Ryan is a music director/ pianist based in NYC. She’s been a part of the Carousel family since 2017 and is the co-owner of the Let’s Broadway Showcase and Workshop Series. She recently MD’d for Encanto’s Jessica Darrow at 54 Below, was the band leader/pianist for Tick Tick Boom at the New Ohio in the Village with Forager Theater Company, and consistently works with Scott Siegel in his productions at the Town Hall and 54 Below. Currently is the MD and orchestrator for Ladies' Lady: A New Musical and is an audition pianist for Wojcik Casting, Telsey Casting, and Whitley Theatrical.

Ashley mentions that “The Carousel is one of my favorite theaters to work at. You would think spending the summer in Boothbay Harbor would be the highlight, but it’s the people and the friends I’ve made here.”

We are so fortunate and grateful for the talent, love and care that Ashley provides to the Carousel!
