Come practice zouk 📚 and dance 🕺 with us on Tuesday, September 17 at Senior Social 👵🪩👴 This month is the last month before we reduce the number of Senior Socials for 2024. Boston is blessed with upcoming weekenders and events, so we will take a small break to allow folks to fully enjoy Boston’s zouk dance scene. 💖

Let’s NOT do this. We wanna hang out with you 🫶 before we dance the night away this Saturday! Join us at Sunset Cantina (916 Commonwealth Ave, Boston) starting at 7:30 pm to grab a drink or a snack in the bar area, then walk over together to Xeno to dance. 🪩 Everyone is welcome, especially if you’re a newbie 🤗 Come get to know your fellow Boston zouk dancers outside the dance floor. 🤝

We are HYPED about these two mix sets we have lined up for y’all tonight 🤩 We have some smooth zouk, some high energy pumped up vibes, and a 🥪 lambada sandwich 🥪 since we were so inspired by the recent lambada weekender.

For folks who don’t know what is lambada or how to dance it - no worries, you can definitely still dance Brazilian zouk to the music! And we encourage you to learn about lambada since it is one of the roots of Brazilian zouk 🌳

Thank y'all for coming out to our last Practica yesterday. We've now concluded our Practica mini-series, and are on the lookout for what we should do next 🤔

Our mission with Zouk BOS is to help 🌱 grow and support our Brazilian Zouk scene in Boston, and we only want to host events that our community members are excited to attend. As we're now wrapping up the Practica series, we invite you to share your opinion and help shape our community's event schedule.

What should we do next? Should we - host more practicas? Line up another class series? Do more socials? Stop hosting events?

Have you been looking to practice your Brazilian Zouk? Need a practice partner or two, or people to discuss questions with? Then come join us at our 📚 Brazilian Zouk practicas!

✨ This Practica series is brought to you by the Class Guides from the Brazilian Zouk Development Series, a group called the Boston Zouk Collaborative (BZC). The BZC are hosting these events to continue supporting the community so feel free to ask questions and train with us!

Practicas are your chance to practice what you learned in dance classes with other folks who also want to practice. It’s a low stress, no expectations, learn at your own pace practice dance session. No partner required, just you!

✏️ Practice dance technique learned in classes, weekenders, and congresses
✏️ Practice social dancing
✏️ Exchange feedback (especially about what feels comfortable, what lead/follow connections are clear or unclear) with other dancers
✏️ Dance with dancers of all skill levels

What a night 😍 We didn’t want the music to stop 😭 Huge thank you to the DJs for exactly the right vibe: DJ Kakah (@djkakah), DJ Dhroovy, and DJ Tiger (@djtigerzk). This night was particularly *chefs kiss* 💋 See you at the next Senior Social on ✨October 22✨ We’re taking a month break since we want folks to take advantage of the many great weekenders, socials, and classes happening in the next month in Boston.
