You need a wedding planner for a tented wedding. Period.

Custom tented installations require a level of complexity only a seasoned pro knows how to handle. There are countless decisions and requirements staring from site assessments, electric capabilities, rain plans, guest comfort… the list goes on. Keep yourself sane and hire a damn planner!

Our first wedding of the season was an epic success and now we’re in full swing for the season! May will be my busiest month yet with four weddings and my first styled shoot. To say I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement is an understatement. I can’t wait to take you all along for the journey!

What are the top three things I consider when looking for a venue?

Let me first caveat this by saying there are SO MANY details to consider when choosing a venue, ESPECIALLY if you are planning a tented wedding that does not include traditional amenities (restrooms, kitchen/prep space, potable water, permits, parking, staff, etc). I’m sharing the top three things I look for if the venue is full service and includes basic necessities!

1. GUEST EXPERIENCE - is there room to expand or areas for your guest to explore? Is there enough space to bring in lounge seating and allow guests more space to relax? Is there an expansive lawn or gardens for guests to watch the sunset or capture Pinterest worthy photos? My favorite venues are ones that have plenty of space for guests to interact, both in and outdoors.
2. NATURAL LIGHT - this is key for gorgeous, heirloom quality photos. Nothing can mimic the serene glow natural light has to offer.
3. RAIN PLAN - if 2023 taught us anything it’s that rain plans are a priority. Consider what your wedding will look like if it does rains and what the venue can offer. There are no wrong answers here, but it’s important to know you can have the wedding of your dreams regardless of weather.

Best of Zola TWO YEARS in a row! This is such a huge achievement for me and I couldn’t have done it without my amazing clients, fellow vendors, and family. 2023 was no easy feat for the New England wedding industry (hello 17 weekend of rain)! Throughout it all, I had clients to laugh with, teams to collaborate with, and so many amazing memories. 2024 - you look great already!
