Onstott, CMP, DMCP 2020-2021 MPI New England Chapter, President The New England Chapter is currently one of MPI's larger chapters with over 700 members.

“The MPI New England Chapter strives to provide quality education and events, great opportunities for networking, and a friendly inclusive approach to its members.” – Ainsley C. The New England Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI/NE) was chartered in 1979 with 59 members. MPI/NE actively promotes awareness of the meeting industry and increase professionalism within the New England

meeting industry by providing members and prospective members with a consistently high level of educational programs, recognition and networking opportunities. Our chapter received MPI's Award of Excellence in Education in 1993/1994. In 1995 we were honored with the Award of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement in Communications, Marketing and Public Relations. MPI/New England members represent the leaders in our industry from prominent organizations throughout New England. In 2020 we were recognized as a Top Performing Chapter for 2019-2020 by MPI Global.

Join MPI New England for an unforgettable evening at our Garden in Time Gala! Set against the stunning backdrop of the Boston Marriott Long Wharf, this magical event will transport you to an ethereal garden full of beauty, elegance, and enchantment.
During the Gala, we will honor the chapter's successes of 2024 with our volunteer awards ceremony, celebrate member milestone anniversaries, and turn over a new leaf by inducting the 2025 Board of Directors during the annual meeting portion of the evening.

Registration is open for our November Education Event at the Conference Center at Waltham Woods. We will be discussing a very important and powerful topic of The Human Face of Events: Focusing on Human Trafficking . Our speaker Jasmine Grace, an effective keynote speaker, panel participant and facilitator for trainings, workshops and groups. She is a survivor of s*x trafficking and drug addiction and has spoken on panels at the U.S Commission on Civil Rights in New Hampshire and at two side panels for members of the United Nations in New York.

11/12/2024 5:30pm-8:30pm - Convention Center at Waltham Woods

Human trafficking is a grave violation of human rights, affecting millions worldwide. This session aims to educate participants about the complexities of human trafficking, raise awareness of its signs, and empower individuals to take action against this global issue. We will cover definitions, types, and prevalence of human trafficking, including s*x trafficking and labor exploitation. Participants will learn to recognize warning signs and the various factors that contribute to vulnerability, such as poverty, lack of education, and systemic discrimination.

The Boch Center Wang Theatre is hosting a day-long symposium and is welcoming MPI New England Members to attend! The symposium will feature industry speakers covering topics such as security, event AV and production, and TIPS training with best practices for alcohol service. The Boch Center's new CEO, J. Casey Soward, will also discuss the role of venues in building community connections. It promises to be a day full of valuable insights, with continental breakfast and lunch included.
