All Memorials dedicated in memory of a South Boston native who made the ultimate sacrifice defending this country.
*World War 2 Memorial*
Dedicated in 2002, it’s inscribed with the names and branches of service of the 225 service members from South Boston who are missing in action or killed in World War 2.
It’s located in Fitzgerald Circle at the entrance to “Sugar Bowl.”
*Vietnam Memorial*
The Memorial sits in M Street Park in South Boston, Massachusetts. It includes the 25 sons of South Boston who were killed in action. It is thought to be the first Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in the country.
Dedicated on September 13, 1981.
*Korean War Memorial*
The monument dedicated in 1993 is inscribed with an honor roll listing the names and branches of service of the 20 service members from South Boston killed in action.
It’s located on Castle Island.
*Mass Fallen Heroes Memorial*
The memorial dedicated in 2016 includes a 50 ft Obelisk “Beacon of Honor” Tower along with glass panels inscribed with the names of the 272 Massachusetts Service Members who haven given their lives in the Global War on Terror since September 11th, 2001.
The memorial is located on Northern Ave in the Seaport.
*World War 1 Memorial*
The Memorial includes 104 photo-based portraits of South Boston men who died in “The Great War.” The Memorial is located inside South Boston High School, it was dedicated on November 10, 1932.
