I cannot believe how fast summer is flying by. I’ve been doing lots of behind the scenes work and of course summer fun with the kids most of the day.

This week I’m prepping for late summer weddings and slowly getting ready for our trip to Italy. When we get back it will be full speed, so I’m doing as much now as I can.

Now tell me your best tips for traveling with toddlers/kids on an overnight flight 👇🏼

Also find yourself someone who looks at you the way looks at ✨

Breanna + Jonathan ✨

This Boston engagement session was everything. We started the session off at the cutest Parisian cafe for some cocktails, and then strolled through Back Bay at golden hour. Their session had so many vibes, yet it all came together beautifully.

Thank you both for allowing me to capture these very special moments for you! I cannot wait until your New York wedding next summer. ✨

My couples are basically like my children in the sense that, you have one and think that you can’t possibly love another as much as you love this one, and then one more comes along and you absolutely do. ✨

Sending hugs to all of the couples that I’ve photographed over the years. ❤️

My journey in this profession has had times of rapid growth and then some subtle breaks as I’ve focused on my family. At the end of summer I’ll be back in action with weddings.

As a mom who dreams very big, it has been hard to pause my ambition at times as I’ve been growing my family. Early on I made the choice to be the one home with my kids. While it’s not for everyone, it has been my reality for the last 5 years. There are days I wish I was working all day, because frankly I need a break! At the same time, these kids are growing too damn fast, and I’d love to just freeze time and bottle up their little amazing personalities.

Shooting less weddings each year has been a blessing. It has allowed me to be so much more focused and intentional in finding the right couples to work with. Most importantly I can serve the ones I have so much better.

This profession is hard. It’s worth it, but is definitely challenging. This is an art, but there is a lot of business involved which can be a rollercoaster of emotions. You need tough skin. There was a time when I was super frustrated and didn’t know what my next move was. It was right after I had Carmela and had chosen to take most of the year off. I talked myself out of the funk I was in and kept at it. I booked a few dream clients and destinations. I still can’t believe it.

No one is guaranteed anything in this line of work. Slowing down, focusing on relationships with clients, vendors and having grit have been my secret to reaching some of my goals.

Liz and Garret’s wedding one year ago in Wolfeboro New Hampshire was one I’ll never forget. The two of them brought an energy to their wedding day that was so contagious to everyone that witnessed it. I could not ask for a better couple to document. We managed to beat the rain and take a ride on an antique boat for some portraits and fun photos. We finished just in time to start the evening off at the for the most epic dance party. Liz wowed everyone with her second dress and dance moves to

This wedding goes down in the books for me! This is why I love weddings. They had an amazing group of family and friends that gave them the BEST day. I had a great time shooting this with my incredible friend and assistant and the talented ladies of I think I can speak for all of us in saying we love our jobs.

Happy 1 year anniversary Liz and Garrett! You deserve the best day! ✨

The first bride I ever photographed was a good friend I met when I was teaching in Charleston, SC. At the time I was an elementary special education teacher and also worked photographing newborns in the hospital on the weekends. My friend asked me to take some bridal portraits for her. To be honest this was a new concept to me. I was already married and definitely had never heard of taking portraits of the bride outside of the wedding day. I quickly became obsessed with the idea of photographing brides, and that love of photographing brides eventually turned into the love of photographing couples. ✨

“It’s ok Liz we did all those fun things.”This was one of the last conversations I had with my dad. His way of telling me we have no regrets. We did so many things together. He was right. No regrets.

A few months earlier we took a big family trip to Italy. My dad had traveled all over the world for his job, but this was probably the only time he was truly able to relax on a foreign trip. To stop and enjoy the scenery and the way of life. Many think my dad was Italian (he was Eastern European) but that’s what happens when you marry an Italian girl from Northeast Philadelphia. Italy was made for him. Tuscany especially. The slow life. Eating 3 hour meals. Lots of espresso. Simple quality ingredients. Red wine. Long car rides. Lots of laughs. As I’m writing this I’m not only crying but laughing at some of the epic stories I have from my dad on that trip. Too many to tell.

My dad was always thinking of an excuse to visit Marc and I in Charleston when we lived there. He’d come in town (many times driving through the night) and have an agenda of things to fix or create for us. He’d have a list of 25 restaurants to try that he’d read about or seen on the food network. He wasn’t a fancy guy, but he knew how to enjoy the simplest things in life.

It’s hard to think my dad left this world before much of my life really started. (My kids, my business). Grief is wild. My dad was one in the million in my eyes. I’m just here to share a bit of his life and the legacy he left behind.

Happy Fathers Day to the all the amazing dads. Remember to do fun things.

A wedding dress is meant to be beautiful, but it also should be lived in a little.

Yesterday I attended a styled shoot for the first time in years. It was an opportunity to connect with other amazing photographers and wedding pros, and for me, a time to push my creative envelope and try new things. I can’t wait to share more, but for now here are a few favorites.

Thank you to for putting together this epic shoot. I can’t wait for the next one. ✨

I had 3 babies in 3.5 years (and relocated 🤪) and I could not have kept this business going without my right-hand girl

I can honestly say that the best decision I made when starting my business was involving her in it. I feel beyond privileged to have her on my team. She has always stepped in and treated my clients with so much love and blessed them with her amazing talents. This job is a lot more fun because of her. On a wedding day she reads my mind and I read hers. We laugh a lot. She will do whatever I need her to do including climb slightly dangerous things to get the best shots. She is not afraid to speak her mind and I can tell you if you’re a guest at one of our weddings put that personal camera away while the couple is walking down the aisle or she will very politely ask you to.

She has put up with me and the wild journey that I’ve been on the past few years trying to navigate a business during Covid, babies, lots of pumping at weddings (which in itself is a whole production IYKYK), and all of my slightly over the top ideas.

As a wedding photographer my second photographer needs to be talented, professional and willing to go above and beyond for my couples. I’ve made a ton of business mistakes, but bringing Liz on is definitely a triumph.

While I serve as the primary face of this business, Liz U. is certainly a huge part of it that I feel the need to share. Thanks lady! 💕

9 times out of 10 sunset photos will be your favorite photos of your engagement session or wedding day. There is just something serene about when the sun is setting and you’re in front of the camera. I don’t know what it is, but I find couples let lose and their uniqueness shines through. When this environment exists, we can create the most creative, raw and authentic images.

Now, what’s your MDW vibe? Beach, champagne, margaritas? Maybe all 3?🍹

Let’s hear it in the comments.

Anticipation is the key to capturing the in between moments on the wedding day. Being a quiet observer giving direction as needed is typically the way I approach a wedding day. There was a point early in my career where I aimed for perfection in every image, and now I know that those imperfect moments are sometimes the most cherished photos that craft your story in a unique and authentic manner. ✨

The other day I was reading some things on popular wedding traditions and their origins. For example, flowers are symbolic of love, prosperity and fertility. You can go down a big rabbit hole reading these origin stories!

Regardless of what flowers stand for, I’m pretty sure when you opt for a rose petal ceremony exit you’re telling your guests “It’s time to party.”🥂🍾

When we first moved back to the Northeast, April came along and I was anxiously awaiting warm weather. I was quickly reminded that in New England it’s not consistently warm until the end of May. A mindset I had to adjust after living in Charleston for 8 years. ✨

Needless to say, I’m happy to have an excuse to go back for weddings during the cold months here! ✨

It’s the time of year where Marc and I start diving deep into research for our annual Italy trip. These convos used to be in our favorite coffee shops and now they’re amongst piles of laundry and Lego’s in our home. Life definitely changes after, kids but it doesn’t mean you can’t continue to travel and show your little ones the things you love in life.

Looking forward to bringing the entire crew to Italy this year. Last summer Carmela tagged along with Marc and I, so this will be the boys’ first time.

What are your thoughts on traveling overseas with kids? 👇🏼
