Time and time again I’ve said it, but the person that has been such a big part of the success of my business over the years is my good friend Liz (sometimes called little Liz or Liz #2) Our photography paths first crossed back in 2015 when we were photographing newborns in local hospitals. Soon after when I got into photographing weddings, she was the first person I called to assist me. Ever since then she’s been a vital part of just about every wedding I’ve ever photographed. I know I’m in a unique situation where I primarily shot with the same person for each wedding and that is something special for all of my couples.

While growing my family over the last 5 years I’ve had to lean on her more than ever. Because she’s so talented and charismatic it was a natural progression to have her start associate shooting weddings. It’s not something I ever planned for, but it just happened and I can say it’s been such a great way to serve more wonderful couples. She always exceeds my expectations and I’m so thankful for her. She doesn’t have the best luck with traveling, so we are always prepared for some kind of drama in regards to that. No matter what though we are always laughing about it.

I think one of the greatest things I can give you after your wedding are photos documenting your guests reactions. These are the moments you don’t necessarily get to see during the busy events of the day. Your spouse wiping away a tear, the joy on your grandmother’s face, your bridal party having a good laugh. There are so many components of the day that I want to capture for you, and these instances are a big part of that. ✨

The thing about engagement sessions is that they can be whatever you want them to be. Don’t follow the norm. Make it unique to the two of you. We started their session off with a classic vibe and ended with a more modern and edgy one. That’s the beauty of engagement sessions. Do what you want. There are no rules. ✨

A key part of my process is anticipating moments before they unfold. This is something that has taken time to perfect, and gets easier with each wedding that I shoot. While I can’t predict everything, having this instinct is essential to capturing real and raw moments on the wedding day. ✨

Perfect posing is a key skill, but learning to anticipate involves careful observation and quick thinking. I love the challenge of a wedding. ✨

The thing I love about photography is that there is always something new to learn. To make it in this industry you can’t sit back and think you’re good enough. You must always be improving your craft, amplifying your client experience and becoming a better business owner. For me this is why I’ll never get tired of it. You made people feel good, you gave them hope and made them feel like they belong. These are only a fraction of the things that made you one of the great ones.

We miss you so much buddy. Grief is complex. We’re thinking about all that could have been, but mostly we’re thinking of Ari and the kids.

When we all met in Charleston, the four of us immediately hit it off. It didn’t take long for you to figure Marc out, and you were instantly brothers with a lifelong bond. For me you were another big brother I never knew I needed.

When you and Marc got together it was comedy hour. Or mostly just the two of you roasting one another while Ari and I chimed in agreeing with the opposite spouse. Please remember that I almost always took your side against Marc, but not when you roasted Ari. When you did that I always had her back and you always gave me a hard time about it. I can promise you that right now I have her back more than ever.

We’ve always been so proud of your coaching accomplishments and in such a short time you became a legend. Basketball brought us together, but our friendship was so much more than basketball. You were so much more thank basketball. The way you lived your life and impacted people’s lives will be talked about forever. How lucky are we all to have witnessed it. This has been an extremely difficult time, but we know you are at peace and that is giving us peace.

Cheers to the Malafrontes! Erin + Sam had the most perfect fall day for their wedding in Plymouth, MA. They were surrounded by the most supportive and fun group of friends and family imaginable. This was one of the best dance parties I’ve ever had a chance to photograph. The party alone deserves its own separate post, so for now the very happy couple.✨

One of the things that pushed me to take photography seriously was when Marc and I moved to South Carolina. I was totally in awe of my surroundings. The beaches, the live oak trees, the sunsets. In my opinion it’s one of the most aesthetically pleasing places that you can find on the east coast. I wanted to document my surroundings for others to see. I think it worked because we had visitors every week of the year when we lived there 😂. I always tell my destination wedding couples that when you get married in beautiful places, expect people to show up for you! Yes of course they love you, but certain places will surely up that guest count. ✨

It has multiple indoor and outdoor spaces where you can host your welcome party, rehearsal dinner and wedding day. My favorite is the waterfront ceremony with a sailcloth tented reception. Just look at that view. 🙌🏻 The best part is you can rent out the entire property for your wedding weekend. Your guests can stay in luxury accommodations right on the property. French’s point has everything you need to plan an unforgettable Maine destination wedding!
