The July 4th holiday period is the greatest challenge of the year to the regional blood supply and this summer it is arriving with already high hospital usage and a critical shortage of multiple blood types.
High reported blood usage June 21-24 at Dayton hospitals included 99 units for trauma, heart surgeries, and gunshot wounds. Currently multiple blood types are in low supply and there is a critical shortage of type O and type B blood. Critical means Solvita cannot fill all hospital requests.
As donations decline during the holiday week, usage at hospitals tends to increase, as more cars on the roads and more outdoor activities contribute to more emergency room visits.

We are so excited to be hosting over 40 vendors!

We are offering 2 shopping times this time around. Come to shop in the morning, the afternoon or grab a day pass and shop all day! Doors will be closed from 12pm until 2pm for vendors to tear down and set up.

We will have food trucks and the patio open, weather permitting, for lunch and drinks!

We were lucky that Local 4 Paul Gross chose Botkins as his viewing town. He retired last year after 40 years as a meteorologist at Channel 4 in Detroit. He shared his knowledge about the solar eclipse before it happened.
