This week has already been a whole ride. Today though, Manos Sagrados' health feels more important - we need space for our creatives to be safe to create and share their gifts, their medicine. We aren't sure what the future holds, but we're sure we want Manos in it. In fact, Wes has been a major supporter of ours, one time telling founder, Bruce Trujillo, "this is bigger than you." Woof.

What a day, huh? We're keeping busy today at 9975, getting ready for NEXT WEEK (the Gala). We feel weird about asking for anything today, but regardless of what happens, independent music and art will need space, especially because they directly impact and support community in so many ways.

An exclusive preview of Manos Sagrados and VIP Fundraiser to help us over this final hurdle! We are so close to our overall vision of what 9975 E. Colfax is, but we need some help! We are beyond grateful for the unwavering support of our community over the past year, and we can’t wait to show you how far that support has gotten us!

Come and enjoy a special set from Wes Watkins, and an after show set by DJ DemiGOD, with refreshments, building tours, and a proper kick off to our space. Proceeds will help us purchase our equipment and finalize our operating costs.

Building update, Sagradités! We haven't posted in a while about what's going on at 9975, but there has been some big movement.

After applying for our liquor license back in October (yes, 2023), the City let us know our building didn't have the correct occupancy for what our vision is. With the help of a LOT of very supportive and amazing folks, we've finally been able to get that updated and changed. Meaning we're once HUGE step closer to hosting YOU! We could go on thanking people like we've just won an award, and trust - we will - but for now, we want to thank y'all for your patience and continued support.

Just having a blast with the Movimiento Music Series in partnership with Colorful Colorado Collaborations and Celestial Alegria at D3 Arts this weekend!

Manos Sagrados helped book at produce this event, featuring the incomparable LatinSoul and Lo**ta, and is the first in a 3-show series, featuring all Chicano and Chicana artists who previously shared their oral history through an interview or during a panel activity with a DU class through the IRISE program (D3 Program Director, Lala Jaramillo, and Manos founder, Bruce Trujillo, were on a separate panel, as well), hosted and curated by Celesté Martinez. This series is live streamed and archived as a part of this tradition of oral history and musical storytelling.

The next 2 shows feature Soy Celesté (with the album release of "Feminist Manifesto,") and Pink Hawks on September 28, and Los Mocochetes and Miguel Aviña on October 12. All events are all ages, sober, and free - only at D3 Arts, or streaming online at celestialalegria.com.

We're so excited to share the artists creating art Manos Sagrados, and today we're introducing Brenda Vargas, a first-generation Chicana/Mexicana born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Her family roots trace back to Mexico City, which she considers the birthplace of her passion for art, activism, and community. Her goal is to make education and art accessible for youth and community.

Brenda is also currently teaching an Intro to Art series at the Globeville Rec Center with our family, the BirdSeed Collective.

We're so excited to share space with Brenda at our space, and share her work! We'll be sharing more of the artists creating their work at Manos, and if you are interested in a studio space, shoot us a DM!vrgas
