Saturday we’re headed to Writer’s Square for the Biennial of the Americas Party on the Plaza! We’re excited for this lineup, as well as the amazing local pop-ups throughout the Plaza:

Join us at Writer Square for Party on the Plaza, sponsored by Southwest Airlines, as we bring the Biennial Festival into the heart of downtown Denver! This free, family-friendly celebration activates the plaza with music, performances, and interactive art inspired by the Festival’s exhibitions and cultural programming.

Surrounded by the energy of Double Vision, Sabor Ancestral, CANDY STORE, and more, the plaza comes alive as a hub of creativity, connection, and community. Everyone’s invited to experience the pulse of the Americas—Biennial style.

In collaboration with Jackie Drummond from Interwoven and Color Her Soul, Manos Sagrados is hosting a free Fall Equinox Clothing Swap October 4th 12p-4p. It is an adult clothing and accessories of all sizes, genders, and styles (special request for clothing for pregnant people). Jackie Drummond will be offering minor alterations and repairs for the clothes at the swap. They will also have yoga bolsters for purchase that can be sold stuffed or unstuffed. This creates an option to stuff yourself with old sheets/fabrics that can’t be donated or use the leftover clothing at the end of the swap! People are encouraged to bring items that otherwise can’t be donated for this reason as well (damaged, stained, etc) for textile recycling. Let’s avoid those textiles going to the landfill!

Luna is offering meet up options for donations for folks who cannot attend the event but still want to release the weight of some of their unworn items. We are looking for community partners in the East Colfax area near Manos to be drop off locations over the next few weeks to support the accessibility of the event, please let Luna know if your business would be interested in learning more about this opportunity!

Just over a week to Inaiah Lujan & The Hardly Nevers with Nina de Freitas, presented by Indie 102.3’s More From The Local 303!

Inaiah Lujan is a Latinx, Colorado-born songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist known for intimate solo performances and crafting songs that echo with raw honesty, heart, and soul. A longtime fixture in the Southern Colorado music scene, Inaiah spent over a decade performing alongside their sister Chela Lujan in the beloved folk group The Haunted Windchimes, and was also one half of the now-retired vintage pop duo In/Planes.

Royal ZaiKing (zey/zem) is a multidimensional creator; and healer - curiously exploring a life inspired by play. As a child, ze loved to write songs, dance without direction and play musical instruments— especially the guitar. Royal is passionate about fusing the art and science of wellness and culture in service of personal and collective growth.

As dedicated yogi and activist - zey integrate ancient philosophy, ancestral wisdom, and modern science to help students find balance and connection in a world of constant adversity and change.

As someone who has experienced chronic pain, mental health challenges and systematic trauma- Royal teaches from lived experience, and a deep understanding of the resilience required to rise above systemic oppression and colonization.
