Hey, it's me: the wedding planner. I am sure you would like to know who you will be working with on your special day so let me formally introduce myself. My name is Maleigha. I am 22 years old, mom of two boys, Zakari, who will be a year & a half by the time his baby brother Kamari arrives...June 4th, 2023 is his ETA. I absolutely LOVE all things wedding and will eat, sleep & breathe yours. Trust me! My event planning passion started back when I was a child planning ANY & EVERYTHING I could. I blame my father, who always insisted on a itinerary for every trip. That stemmed into planning parties, trips, and vacations any & every occasion. Nothing excites me more than writing things down in my planner or making notes & organizing!

"22, you stay? You're too young to be married!" and that would be partially correct. Although, I am in a happy relationship with my children's father, I am not married...yet ;) "How would you be any good at planning my wedding when you haven't had your own?" Easy, because I am the most organized, researched, creative, detailed, reliable, and personable woman. I am constantly looking for ways to update & expand my knowledge on all things wedding. From taking online courses, shadowing other established wedding planners, working in related positions at venues, reading blogs, constantly listening to podcasts, watching others speak about their businesses, watching social media influencers, reading magazines while standing in line at the grocery store...yes I just said that and I'm serious! Literally anything that has to do with weddings, I'm wanna see it! I am ahead of all the new trends and the ones that are on their way out. My eye for design will help round out your perfect day from your vision. I am aware of timelines and deadlines that need to be met before, during and after the wedding. Also, if you haven't been told already, i'll be the first and say that planning a wedding is not easy but that is why people like me exist! Essentially, ill be your right-hand gal. This is a time to be focused on you and your partner, let me handle all the stress!

Good Morning, I hope everyone is having an amazing Friday so far! I would like to start out by saying, I am NOT as good at social media as I thought I was and yesterday really brought that to the light! I contemplated all day yesterday making this post and have decided it is what’s best! There is no better way to learn than through trial and error.

For weeks, I thought about how I was going to introduce myself as a Wedding/Event planner and when the time came to actually do it, I did it wrong! Yesterday, after I had read the post for the millionth time over, I thought to myself “how sketchy is this?” “If I was looking for a Full service wedding planner or Day- of coordinator, would I want to send my money to this random page claiming to be a planner/coordinator?” NO, I absolutely would NOT trust that at all and I made the mistake of thinking other people would. With that being said I will be canceling the raffle…for now. This does not mean I won't be accepting clients! I would absolutely love to be considered to work with anyone on their special day but I would like to take a few weeks to build a relationship with my followers! I do have some projects I am working on at the moment and have some exciting content planned that I can't wait to share with you.
I want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who engaged with my posts yesterday and for the amount of support/kind words I received. I could not be more thankful for you all!!!!

Let’s be honest for a moment! On your wedding day, you should be super blissful from the time you wake up to the time your head hits the pillow that night. But guaranteed, you’ll have a lot going through your mind – “what if everything isn’t set-up the way I envisioned?” “What if I forget to pay the Officiant?” “What if my photographer gets stuck in traffic?” “What if Uncle Mike shows up drunk and steps on my veil?!”

Day-of wedding coordinators are often overlooked by engaged couples because hiring one is an investment in something that you can hold, touch or see. Sometimes couples forego a DAY OF wedding coordinator because they’d rather spend the money on extra floral arrangements or upgrade their bar to premium liquor, something they can tangibly see and enjoy. The result? Couples quickly discover their vendors cannot give them their undivided attention throughout the entire day and they are stressing over the small but important details instead of just enjoying their day. Working other positions in the wedding industry, I have seen this happen countless times! That’s why even if you have a great team of vendors, hiring a DAY OF wedding coordinator is an investment into peace of mind on the biggest day of your life.

A day-of wedding coordinator is like a fairy godmother (at least that’s what I like to consider myself as) who takes the responsibility of hosting your wedding off your shoulders. I manage the timeline, your vision, your guests’ experience and you & your fiancé’s overall happiness. I will become your venue and vendor liaison, so you don’t need to answer a single question or make any decisions on your big day. I am your creative problem solvers who steps in when things go wrong and often fix problems before they even happen. I typically start working with you about 2 months prior to the big day to understand your vision, take over vendor communication and allow you the time to enjoy the last few weeks of being engaged. If you have been weighing the option of needing one for your big day or not, I promise you won’t regret hiring one…let me rephrase that; I promise you won’t regret hiring ME🫶🏼

I apologize for the long post ahead but I would be so grateful if you would just take a moment to get through the whole thing 🫶🏼 I have been working on something very Important to me for quite some time now & I am SO excited to finally share it with everyone!

As of March 17th, 2023 I am officially certified in Event & Wedding Planning but that’s not all I’m excited about sharing with everyone☺️ Before & during working for my certification, I have also been working to create my own spot in the wedding/ event world. For the past 8 months I have put all my time, energy & entire heart into creating a more modern, fun, stress free, safe & creative planning experience for future Mr. and Mrs., Mr. and Mr., Mrs. and Mrs. (No discrimination AT ALL). My life long dream, something I thought would only ever be just a dream has finally came true and I am excited to announce Mrs. Married Planning & Coordination is official and accepting clients for the 2023 wedding season 🥳🍾
