Tonight, on February 29th, 2024, we have something special happening at our restaurant. We're thrilled to host Western Kentucky's ROTC dinner party downstairs! 🎉 They'll be recognizing and honoring their students for their remarkable achievements.

During their program, there will be plenty of engaging discussions led by their host. As a result, we want to inform our regular diners that there won't be any background music played downstairs to ensure everyone can fully participate and enjoy the event.

However, fear not! We are still OPEN for business upstairs, and our VIP balcony awaits you for a delightful dining experience. While you enjoy your meal, please understand that tonight's ambiance might be influenced by the ROTC program happening below.

For those unfamiliar, ROTC stands for "Reserve Officers' Training Corps." It's a program that prepares college students for future service in the Army, Navy, or Air Force. Students join ROTC for various reasons, including professional opportunities, scholarships, and a desire to serve their country.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we host this meaningful event. Thank you for being part of our community, and we look forward to serving you tonight!

Last night this happened!
Bowling Green's, Mayor Alcott, celebrated his birthday at our restaurant. Atendees his brother and their lovely wife's!
I stopped by to say hello to them, and we exchanged a few stories about our lovely town. He said the city is doing GREAT! Just hope and pray that we don't get any crazy weather like last year that devastated our town. THEN I shared our story...

When our town got hit and many parts of our city had no electricity, THE following day we had a wedding scheduled and had no idea of what was going to happen, even if we had a building or not.

So, our building was spared only some light damage and few of our exterior glass were broken. I called the father of the bride and asked if the wedding was going to take place and he said " weddings and funerals must go on, can't reschedule those" so with those words I had a wedding reception to prepare for. A few minutes later the bride called and informed me that the church they were supposed to get married had no electricity or heat, and now the wedding was going to take place at our venue, which somehow I was able to get enough people together to arrange a wedding ceremony and reception in a matter of a few hours. The wedding was a huge success! A happy and lovely couple got married. A wedding, day to remember!

The following day Anna and I went for a drive to see our town, in our hearts we felt that we needed to help and do something. A day later an NGO calls and at first asked if we could prepare 200 to 300 meals for the next 10 days or so to help the people who got displaced, I automatically said YES, because Anna and I talked about it a day before, than as I was on the phone with Anna informing her, I get a call back from the same organization saying is there anyway you could prepare 1200 to 1300 meals per day for next 2 weeks, which I responded immediately, for that number I definitely need to ask my wife/chef/business partner let me get back to you all in an hour.

Called Anna and informed her about the new 1200 meals every day for next week, her answer YES, if you can get me everything I need to cook with, I asked what do you need? She said "Military pots and pans" I said I have no idea what you are talking about. So after a bit of research I got Anna was she needed, in less than 24hr we started to cook 1200 meals for Red Cross every single day, for about 12 days. Anna and I worked every day with about 3 hours of sleep, we cooked from 3am till 9am to have the food ready at 10am to be loaded to go out. With the help of our employees, current, past and a few friendly volunteers we were able to prepare in total about 13,000.00 meals for 10 days or so, while at the same time running the restaurant for lunch and dinner, Christmas parties, rehearsal dinners and normal dine in service.

So, after sharing this story with our Mayor he gets up and with two hands says, I have something for you, and hands me the city coin of excellence. He said he did not know anything about it, so he was so happy to hear it!

I told him, we were happy to Help and do our party for the community, because Bowling Green is my community and has been for 23 years now!

About six months a go, got the call that Department of Kentucky Tourism chose Anna's Restaurant to be featured on series called KY Moments. A very large and professional film crew showed up and interviewed Anna and I, and shot the entire day, recorded scenes throughout the restaurant.

We finally got the finished product and they are getting ready to lunch their marketing campaign. This Video clip will be aired across the entire USA to invite visitors to visit KY and our lovely town.

To call a place truly your home town it includes more than just your house. For us moving to Bowling Green KY, creating a new family, working hard every day, and being a party of supportive community, serving this community that is definitely the definition of saying my home town!

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our Family, Employees, Customers and everyone who supported my family for tha last two decades!
