The Frick’n Guest list….
In all honesty, this is a big challenge. There are tons of people you love and value and tons of people your parents love and value. Every family is different so this tip isn’t going to be a one-size-fits-all all approach, but I hope to give some helpful thoughts regarding this matter.

Land on a number and stick to it.
It is easy to say we can add just “one more person” and that one person can turn into twenty making it even harder to cut it down.
Recognize not everyone you invite is going to come to the wedding. Usually, you can invite 15%-20% more people than will attend. Sometimes it is good to invite Uncle Billy who lives thousands of miles away because then he might feel bad he can’t come and get you a wedding gift.

Set hard lines on how many people your family can invite.
Now, this won’t work for every situation, but it does help to keep the people at the wedding people you know and value. One way to do this is the 1-1-2 strategy. For every 1 person each set of parents invites, the couple gets 2. So for a wedding of 200, each set of parents can invite 50 people and the bride and groom can invite 100. This can be broken down further so that the bride and groom each invite 50 people.

Set Boundaries and stick to them.
Do people get a plus 1? Can kids come? You need to land on these things before you start the guest list and stick to them. It will cause conflict, but it will also help eliminate a lot of hurt feelings of why one person can bring a date and the other can not.
Keep the main thing the main thing.
It can be so easy to get lost in the weeds with the guest list, but remember why you are getting married and what your wedding values are. If one of your values is to have the guests be people who really matter to you, consider having a smaller wedding and only inviting those people

If I could give more than 5 stars I would, CJ is an incredibly talented and kind individual who was an absolute dream to work with! He is very professional and down to earth with a knack for blending into the party. Several of our guests commented about how impressed they were with him and couldn't wait to see the pictures. He did an amazing job capturing all the feels and special moments throughout the day so that looking through our album actually felt like reliving it all. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat!

Wedding Venue Highlight: The White Raven
is a beautiful wedding and event venue located just a short 25-minute drive west of Downtown Missoula. The stunning mountain setting offers panoramic views of the Clark Fork River, stone cliffs, majestic pines, and wildflower meadows. What I love about this venue is how it features a modern Montana-inspired style that blends the best of both worlds: rustic mountain charm and modern sophistication. The venue offers multiple ceremony locations and amenities for whatever your wedding day holds.

Getting married in Montana? Here’s a little-known fact: Unlike other states. You don’t need an ordained minister to make your marriage official. In Montana, the choice is yours—anyone can officiate your wedding. Your best friend from college, your dad, your dog, heck even you can marry you and your partner. It should go without saying, if you are getting married in Montana, you will need a wedding license. This document signifies your marriage as a legal union.

In Montana, marriage license requirements are pretty straightforward. You’ll need to apply in person, be at least 18 years old, and have proof of age, identification, and residency.

In the state of Montana, both residents and nonresidents may apply for a marriage license to get married in the state. There is no waiting period to get a Mariage license. It is important to note, that a Montana marriage license will expire in 180 days. Be sure not to get it too early in your wedding planning process. Charles is an incredible photographer and an even more incredible person. His photography is art you will cherish for the rest of your life and is so worth the investment. You can see the proof looking though his reviews and photos. From the first time my husband and I met Charles we knew we wanted him to capture our special day. We loved the idea of having the candid story of our day so we could relive it every time we looked through the photos. He did not disappoint. The first time looking through our album I felt like I was transported back to the day. When you’re in the moment it’s so hard to take everything in - weddings are overwhelming no matter how perfect everything goes. Looking through the photo gave us the opportunity to remember all the beautiful moments that were lost in our memory. If I had the opportunity to go back in time, I would choose Charles to photograph our day every-time. If this doesn’t sell you then his photos certainly will!

Personable, professional, talented, and fun; Charles was the perfect choice for us on our special day! He was very willing to work with us in taking on our packed schedule for our wedding day and was there for us every step of the photography planning process.

Though he played a professional role in our day, having him around felt natural due to his friendly attitude and good humor. He felt like another friend of ours! He knows how to get you laughing which made for great candid photos. Once he showed up, I knew we could just live our day because he was there capturing all our perfect little (and big) moments. Our family and friends commented on how impressed they were by him.

Our wedding photos are all we ever could have hoped for! Vivid, picturesque, candid, emotional, and so, so stunning. They will forever be a means for us to relive one of the best days of our lives. Thank you, Charles!
